Compared to other campgrounds we visited in national parks, the madison campground in Yellowstone was kind of crowded. The camping spots were all very close together, and offered little privacy. However, this didn't bother us at all. Yellowstone is one of the most popular national...More

I mention we’re LGBTQ only for the purpose of other LGBTQ to relate. This was our first visit to Madison campground. We loved it so much and we found a perfect time to visit. There were no crowds exploring and no bugs in Oct. Sites...More

A group of friends went this past weekend, the last weekend the Madison campground was open, and it was great. We arrived just in time for the early snow. We checked in, set up camp, and toured parts of the park. The bathrooms were warm...More

We travel in travel trailer. We charged our stuff in the car though. I don’t think their super strict on tent size and I think you will be fine. I find the sites to have good space between them.

The geysers are SO spread out- so we drove to each one. Once you're at each one, there are many opportunities to walk/hike. Yellowstone is immense- and each section of it is as well. You will love it!
