I like Hampton Inns and have stayed in dozens over the years. I'm willing to pay a little more than at other hotels knowing I can count on Hampton for certain things. Sadly, this Hampton fell far short. For openers, at check-in one of the staff at the front desk reeked of dope smoke. I don't really care about smoking, but Hampton might care about the impression it makes. Upon leaving an hour or so later, the same staff member was outside the front doors where people were definitely smoking it and you could smell it again. If she wasn't smoking it, she surely was hanging with people who were and getting it all over her. I mean, c'mon. The room was fine. Relatively clean and comfortable like one would expect from a Hampton Inn. Decent location downtown and a short walk to restaurants and other places. The breakfast was the worst I've had at a Hampton. Offerings were slim, the food was pretty bad, and trays were left empty for long periods. The person working was walking around talking loudly on her phone complaining about both her job and the people who were simply trying to get some breakfast. Since the included breakfast is one of the reasons we choose Hampton Inns, this was disappointing. Whatever. I wouldn't hold this against the whole chain, but I won't be back to this one.…
We spent 2 nights in town to catch a Reds game and see the city. Although entrance to hotel looks a bit rundown, the lobby and rooms are very nice. We had a very large suite with a really comfortable bed.
Dirty, cra*k den looking hotel.! Cracked glass on the entrance. Stains and burns on bedding, the couch looks like fat Albert slept on it for a year without taking a shower.. The bed was so bad, I went and slept in my car..
This hotel needs to be upgraded. filthy carpet walls dirty. anyone can access elevators without key card which is a security issue. Room had a weird smell would no recommend to anyone . overall stay rated 0
Came into town to see the Tina Turner musical and booked this hotel since it was within walking distance of the theater and area restaurants. The valet was prompt, the front desk staff very nice, and the room was ready on arrival at 3. Room on the 9th floor, very spacious and well appointed. Very quiet, we heard no one while in the room. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!
We booked this room for Blink Cincinnati. It was the perfect location, about halfway through Blink. Every single member of the staff that we encountered was very friendly, and we never went near the front desk! Valet, breakfast, housekeeping....they all went out of their way to smile and greet us. You find that a lot anymore. Good job Hilton!
Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Plenty of linen and toiletries. Hot water and A/C operational. Very tasty breakfast which happens to be free. Conveniently located to stadium, parks, and riverfront. Many restaurants in the area.
Ask if A/C Is fixed before booking. It’s unfortunate because this is a REALLY beautiful historic hotel in the heart of downtown Cincinnati with a very nice breakfast buffet and even free wine and snacks at happy hour. The rooms are lovely and there are Lots of very nice common areas for socializing and hanging out but Unfortunately, the A/C issue is a deal breaker in the hot months. Would stay here in the winter, but never again in summer. Room was 80+ degrees even after we switched rooms. Maintenance guy came by and couldn’t even begin to fix the issue.
This hotel is in dire need of renovation. It was not as clean as I would like, but I try to be forgiving on that front because I know it's difficult to find staff. The carpets were stained and the walls were dinged up. The curtains in our room were sagging. The location was great, it was an easy walk to the football stadium and in a safe neighborhood with several high-end restaurants. The building has 12 floors and only 2 of the 6 elevators were working at any given time. We were on the 10th floor and every time an elevator would open up, it would be packed with people! When were leaving on Sunday morning, it took us 45 minutes to get in an elevator! My dad is in a wheelchair, so taking the stairs was not an option. The breakfast would have been good, but again, they were very understaffed and kept running out of food. On the first day, I had raisin bran crumbs for breakfast with warm milk and on the second day, I had cold sausage. The valet staff was friendly and efficient. I would not go back to this hotel.…
Bottom Line: As a long time Honors member and frequent traveler, this hotel is not indicative of the Hilton standard. Rooms were not available until 6pm (check in at 3), no text/call notification, had to continuously engage from 3-6pm, with no estimated time of completion. Folks falling asleep in the lobby waiting on room. We missed the first hour of our concert waiting on room availability. Additionally, only 2/6 elevators were operational, so be prepared to wait 15 minutes to get in/out of your floor. This building is a hotel refurb, and it is clearly not yet ready for full guests. Understand staff shortages/covid, but please be transparent with your customers on issues impacting their stay in advance and/or do not take reservations. Lastly, we were charged for valet automatically without asking, had to get the charge removed. Asked for compensation on these issues and were told a cold 'sorry'. Staff were very non-committal to resolve problems. Hard pass!…
