Shower provided my women and I with great service. She was very kind and knowledgeable about her job as well as the area. We was greeted with a smile and directed to great places to have a good experience in Cincinnati
Check in with Robert at front desk was speedy. Our room faced the river with huge windows, which have electronic window shades - the window shades need to be replaced, they wouldn't work right. Summer, who was at the front desk in the evening, was very friendly & helpful. We were surprised, given the location on a busier street, how dark & quiet our room was during the night. Try the Sleepy Bee next door for breakfast, you won't be sorry.
Shower is a perfect example of great customers service. I travel alot and my experience starts and stops with the front desk. I can truly appreciate your employee Shower who made my experience great I'll stay here everytime I come to Cincinnati
Front desk staff was efficient and helpful with the check in process. There was a problem and she resolved it quickly and easily so our stay was pleasant. Thank you for being extremely thoughtful and understanding
In between the Westin & Renaissance - but not close to their level. I like courtyards. They’re great. This courtyard m, not so much. It all started with the approach. Where, when & how to park is about as clear as mud. You see the Renaissance, turn right (because in case you don’t know, Cincinnati loves one way streets.) and you see a Westin sign. You’re likely to drive by it, like we did. We rounded the Marriott block again, and crawled around to see the courtyard on the window. We parked out front, and a very sweet kid came out to greet us with a luggage cart. Valet or self park. We said “valet”, because it was included in my incredible AAA rate. (Except it wasn’t “apparently” more on that later) He grabs our last name & goes to the front desk who immediately starts checking us in. This would be my 3rd Marriott property in 4 days - so my attention to service & detail was high. We headed to the 14th floor. (There was a 13th floor! Btw.) No welcome waters, luggage rack or working lamps apart from the bedside ones. The floors are tile. This may not be an issue for most, and in a post covid world a plus for a lot. Except, getting into/out of bed & walking around. Not super relaxing for me. So I wore shoes. All the time. Loved all the windows. Until it was unseasonably warm in the city & the AC unit works on sensing if people are in the room. Gone for the day, room on the 14th floor 78degrees at 10:30 pm. Yikes. I still am not sold on the whole barn door situation, I get it, space saving, but it’s annoying. And very loud in the middle of the night. I had asked for additional pillows, my bedmate uses all of them. They never arrived. Asked for additional towels, hand ones specifically. Those never were delivered or even given to me when I asked about them. The tv. I KNOW I’m not in town to watch tv, but when I want to I want to be able to. We couldn’t access any streaming sources, the remote wouldn’t work - went down stairs & got a new remote. Then the internet was down. Called, no answer. When we travel, we like to catch up on/start new series together. Nope, not in Cincinnati. When we did need the car, I texted the valet, received a response, did my automated tip & 15 minutes later we went downstairs. Our car, not outside. The valet asked if we were waiting for a car. 20 minutes later it arrived. The best thing I can say is that the valet had turned the AC on full blast & icy. I appreciated that. Location, we wanted to be more walkable to the ballpark than anything else. We are usually walkers all the time in cities. It was so hot, we ubered when we went back to the OTR neighborhood for dinner & then to the game. Worth every single penny. I’d have paid double. Overall, if I had to return to Cincinnati, I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here. I’ve been back nearly a week and am still having challenges resolving my bill. Apart from the lack of housekeeping activity & follow up, the staff was nice. Not over the top, didn’t miss the mark but everything else, sure did.…
Hotel was clean, in a great location. Staff in the Bistro was the BEST! The day front desk staff is the worst staff I've ever encountered in all of my travels, ever! No one wore a name tag so have no idea who was who. We reserved 2 rooms, checked in at 2pm. I asked if 1 room for our adult sons could be changed to a double. Was told no problem, but double wasn't cleaned yet. No problem, we'd put their luggage in our room & come back later. We came back at 6pm & were told they weren't sure if there was a clean double, would we mind waiting for staff to check. No problem, 15 minutes later we were told the room wasn't clean. Again, no big deal, said we'd be back later. At 10pm we were told there were no doubles left, except 1 & that we could have it for 1 night but would have to move in the a.m. I explained we were attending my mother's funeral in the morning, we could not change rooms. I've never done this before, but shared I was a Lifetime Platinum member. At that point she gave us this room, said we could stay in it for 2 nights. (Staff member was very kind) When we checked out things got complicated again! Bills for the 2 rooms were different. Staff kept telling me that she didn't have control on '$20 incidental fee', and that 'room rates change by the day'. I told her I understand the rate 'changes by day' & explained there was no '$20 incidental fee' charged on my bill. My concern was why the rates were different per room, not per day. In the middle of this discussion she has to go to the bathroom. When she returns she says we didn't check in together, 1 room was checked in at 2pm, other at 10pm. Not sure why this matters. At this point there are guests gathered around waiting for the valet that was taking an hour to deliver cars. I was so uncomfortable that we left without resolving the issue. We've stayed in 13 Marriott properties in the last 21 months. Consider ourselves 'Marriott People'.…
The front desk staff never had a smile on their face and was not very friendly. Multiple people were still waiting for rooms after 4:30 due to no housekeepers. Check in according to the website is at 3 PM, but no one seemed to care about multiple guests waiting in the lobby for rooms. Ultimately my room was cancelled because I complained after failing to check in 2 times and my room was still not ready. Needless to say I stayed around the corner at the Holiday Inn and had excellent service.
The dirtiest room that I've ever stayed. I took 3 photos (posted), but there were more dirty areas like shower room, hair in the ice bucket, hallway on the room floor. Ice maker on the floor was broken, but I requested it when I checked in. I did the mobile check in and requested amenities like lotion. The hotel did not have body lotion which was fine, but I wished it was out from the selection on the site, so I would bring it. There are more complains related to the amenities, but I understand things are tough with the inventory shortage and inflation. Even though I checked in via mobile in advance, I had to spend time at the check-in counter. She also told me she did not know how the digital key worked. Also she did not tell me any key information like where the restaurant was, there would be no room cleaning unless I requested, complimentary coffee at the lobby. She told me that I would pay for the coffee, but the staff who I saw next morning told me it was free. All staff members who I spoke with were nice and knowledgeable except for the person who did my check in. Noise from the hallway was so louder than my experience from other hotels. I would be happy to stay at other hotels even if they charge more and would not recommend this hotel to my coworkers.…
Valet was amazing Kieran was very helpful with baggage . Took time to accommodate us for all our needs . Definitely a 10/10 . Made our arrival and departure alot easier . All in all a great stay also loved the location of the hotel The location was very clean and front desk staff was very pleasant as well
Fantastic location-fast and easy walk to the stadiums and the Banks. We were there on a busy playoff game weekend and the staff handled the crowds well - very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were new and extremely clean! We will definitely be back.
