Great place. Rooms are quirky but you're encouraged to visit before you check-in. We walked into and back from town in the evening; 10 minutes walk. The evening hotel menu is exceptional if you don't fancy getting out. Grounds at the hotel are beautiful, small but perfect swimming pool, ample parking and all the staff very welcoming. Cooked breakfast in... More

This house is rich in history. Guests are given a 2-page, typed sheet to read as self-guided tour. My wife and I did the tour twice, once on the evening we arrived, and again the next morning after breakfast. The rooms typify Southern antebellum mansions. Our party had the Jefferson Davis Room and the Sherman Room. The grounds are lovely... More

We stayed one night late September in the Bonnie Blue room. This room offers a single bed in addition to the beautiful canopied queen bed, which offered a great solution for a father-daughter stay. The room was well-appointed, with two chairs and a TV, tub/shower combination, hairdryer, extra blankets and pillows, alarm clock, easily-controlled A/C, free wi-fi (which worked best... More

We stayed in the Yazoo Suite this time. The climb up the stairs is so worth the view of the Mississippi River. We have stayed at Cedar Grove a few times and it is always the best part of our vacation. Rhonda and her staff always go out of their way for their guests. Everyone there is like family. The... My husband and I spent one night in the Grant Room within the Mansion. Thank you manager, Rhonda, for suggesting. It was delightful. Quiet with all the amenities. Didn't even turn on the the TV. The self tour was good....even has a cannon ball lodged in the wall from the Battle of Vicksburg in the 1860's!! Dinner was a good... More

Third trip here in 5 years. Never dissapointed. We stayed in the Yazoo suite over the 4th of July holiday again. Again Chef Shunta carried our luggage to our room and he was so great that even though he was scheduled to be off when we had our dinner reservation, he came back in and cooked for us. As always... My husband and I stayed here during a weekend trip. We stayed in one of the guest cottages. It was beautiful. The mansion itself is also beautiful. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend.

My family spent several enjoyable nights here in the Elizabeth Suite. Bridgette (in the restaurant) and Calvin (at the front desk) epitomized Southern hospitality, and we enjoyed chatting with them about the mansion and the kitchen's specialties. A highlight of the stay was going to the roof top terrace at twilight with my husband and a mint julep that Bridgette... More

Our family chose to stay here with another family on our way back from a vacation to Panama City. At first we were uncertain of our choice but the charm of the home and grounds got to us. We stayed in the Carriage House. We felt it was clean. We had dinner in the restaurant and really enjoyed it. My... More

This is without a doubt an historical place. The antiques and grounds are lovely, however I agree with other reviewers this place needs more than maintenance. It needs MAJOR updates and cleaning. When I walked into our room I was shocked to see dirty frayed carpets and mold in the bathtub (anyone ever heard of cleaning products). The wicker chairs... More
