If you like the finer things in life this is not the hotel to stay at. The staff was careless, the room was dirty, pillow ripped and dirty. Complaint to reception and she doesn’t even care. The bathroom was disgusting which you would not expect for the Westin brand and for the price that we spent. I have uploaded some of the pictures that show some of the defects.
Hotel is nice in the old parts, the newer parts are fine but nothing great considering the price. My main complaint is the pool area. The pool is tiny and far too small to accommodate the number of guests staying at the hotel. It was immediately apparent we had zero chance of getting a sun bed as they were occupied from VERY early morning and there were not very many anyway again in relation to the number of guests. This was disappointing. The beach bar was always busy and a bit scruffy ....okay to sit in for a quick drink but not exactly luxurious or relaxing. I mistakenly thought there was a private beach but it is only a strip of beach along the front of the hotel which was occupied by a few cabanas which were expensive and always reserved. Loved the rocking chairs at the front of the hotel which were nice to relax in but we won't be back. We spent a lot of money for not much luxury in an over crowded space.…
The property is beautiful and probably one of the nicest hotels here. The pool is small so lounge chairs are hard to come by unless you get to the pool at 6:30am. They do not reserve chairs or cabanas until the morning of. The pool lounge chairs are slightly cushioned so they hold water. When you sit down your butt and towels soak up all the water. Pool service for food and beverage is average. Pool area is not well cleaned. Check in staff was awesome. Hotel interior was beautiful and clean. The upper bar was closed at least 3 nights of our 7.
We booked an afternoon tea which was held on the Veranda. This was a beautiful location, very nicely decorated and what I would call old style colonial decor. Ceiling fans, white tablecloths, very elegant. The staff were excellent. The sandwiches and cakes were fine, nothing to complain about exactly but as with a lot of these afternoon teas, the emphasis seems to be on providing little cakes and more little cakes with very few substantive sarnies! Still, it was well worth it.
From check in to check out, the experience was easy and care free. The woman who checked us in was very helpful with our request. The rooms were clean and what we wanted. Daniel at the Veranda made the afternoon tea an amazing experience. And Lee, Isaac, Emile, and Kaia made beach time very relaxing and stress free. All in all, a complete success.
We did an overnight staycation with my daughter and her friends as a bon voyage to their group as they heard off to college that started with Afternoon Tea on The Veranda. The service there was impeccable lead primarily by Daniel. He was so friendly and prompt with thoughtful things like moving our table away from the sun (since it was warm), keeping our water glasses refilled, refreshing our tea pots, and keeping the rose coming for the 21+ guests. Daniel was extremely personable chatting with my daughter and her friends who enjoying their first afternoon tea, making them feel comfortable. The sandwiches and sweet treats were amazing. The pineapple sorbet as a ending palette cleanser was perfect. Definitely returning for tea again. Our overall stay has been wonderful. Daniel started it off right! Truly deserving of Waiter of the Year!!…
At $500’per night, I was beyond disappointed and disgusted to find a roach in my bathroom. I saw huge cockroaches on the grounds at the Beach Bar, so I was very aware while dining there which made it rather uncomfortable since I had on sandals and kept watching the ground underneath our dining table. But the roach in the room ruined it for me, especially at the price of the hotel. Also, the room cleanliness is lacking. My shower door had film on it due to lack of thorough cleaning, there is dust on baseboards, vents and on the door insets. Furniture is worn. Walls are thin so I heard my neighbor’s conversation and laughter. I don’t think I will be returning here.
This is a beautiful hotel, super great location and fantastic beach. We only had 1 night here and wished we stayed longer. Restaurant overlooks the beach. Absolutely stunning! We had a beach facing room and it was spacious and spectacular.
Beautiful hotel with a wonderful beach bar area overlooking the beach. Can chill in a rocking chair with drink while watching the sunset or surfers. Better than other hotel outdoor areas since the hotels has a large open area under a majestic and historic Banyan Tree, Outdoor area can fit many people who all want to have oceanfront viewing. Food was good at Beach Bar cafe, recommend the Poke Nachos between surf sesh. Rooms are super comfy, beds make it easy to sleep soundly. Had a tower room right on main drag and even with listening to nightly Club Fyre directly across street that goes off nightly with loud music, they shut down by 10 so you can still get enough sleep to catch waves the next day. Hotel staff were discrete yet available if needed. Would recommend staying here.
I've been to Waikiki a handful of times now and this is the first hotel ON the beach that I have stayed at. It was definitely pricey but well worth it in my opinion. I stayed in this hotel for 2 short nights and wish I had been here longer. Beach: - Hotel is directly on the beach and beach chairs are available for rental. - Unfortunately, you must reserve beach chairs 24 hours in advance, in the morning, at the pool, and it must be in person. Very disappointing if you are only there for 2 days. - Beach view is amazing and in the heart of Waikiki beach. The sunsets are also amazing to view here. Pool: - Pool seats go quickly, we went down to reserve a lounge chair at 7am and by 8am almost all the chairs were "reserved" aka people placed their items on the chairs to "hold" them down. - Pool is small, perfect for a dip to cool down but not deep. - Pool service for drinks and food were attentive. - There are cabanas at the pool facing the beach but you must reserve those 24 hours in advance as well, in person. Room: - We stayed in the Tower rooms and had a deluxe king, ocean view. The room was modern and spacious and kept clean. Our balcony had a great view of the beach and Diamond Head. There is a mini fridge available as well. No complaints on the room. Lobby Bar with a pianist: - Saw the pianist on Friday night here and he was great!! Enjoyable live music! - Great vibe on the weekend nights - Prompt and friendly service Gym: - Spacious and clean - Lots of weights and machines - They have peloton bikes!!! Location: - Perfect, right in the middle of Waikiki beach and walkable to everything - Tons of restaurants nearby - Tons of shopping nearby Overall, I can't wait to come back and stay here again! It is definitely pricey so wouldn't stay here if you don't plan on spending most of your time at this hotel to make the most out of it.…
