It's difficult to write a review when all you are doing is rehashing what everyone else has already said, but that is all I can do for the Royal Grove. Thirty-plus stories? Panoramic view? Bright, shiny, sparkling new? Fancy restaurant? Concierge? None of the above. So why stay here? Because it's a throw-back to the way things used to be....

I stayed at the Royal Grove from October 7-14. This hotel is a hidden gem. Okay , so it's dated . This hotel is clean , the linens are clean , full size fridge very clean , oven clean . The bathroom was small but clean. There was an outdated larger tv , it worked. The pool was clean ,...

Nothing fancy in this hotel but who goes to Hawaii to stay in the room? Employees are very friendly and always helped us when require. The only thing was that we found our room very noisy so next time I would pick a room on the pool side.

We stayed at the Royal Grove again this month, we stayed there some years back. It is a great budget hotel, very close to beach and shopping. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is nit a fancy hotel but you have everything you need. Great to have the small kitchenette, so you do not have to eat out all...

Considering the location of this hotel so close to Waikiki beach and considering the cost of nearby hotels the Royal Grove is incredibly good value. Yes it is old but it is clean, service is good, everything functions as it should,,and there is a swimming pool.

For 23 years, I stayed there three times a year. People keep going back because they truly make you feel welcome the moment you step in. It is in the heart of Waikiki, not on the beach, but two blocks away. Yes, it will get noisy at times, but it is charming in an old fashioned way. When you step...

I stayed at the Royal Grove with a large group of musician's who were there for the Hawaiian Ukulele Festival. This grand old lady's is just the perfect place to stay when you are a ukulele aficionado. I stayed in room 209 which is a spacious corner suite and had everything I needed including a large fridge and perfectly functioning...

We loved this family-run old style hotel, central to everything and 5 mins walk to Waikiki beach. We went with a large group to attend the ukulele festival and all but 1 out of 7 rooms were delightfully clean, large, comfortable, air-conditioned, own bathroom, kitchenette, full-size fridge, balcony and serviced. The odd room out was a cheapy (no air-con and...

Stayed in one of the condos across the road. Room was well appointed and comfortable. A little shabby and dated but everything worked fine. The desk staff were all very helpful and appeared to give genuine unbiased advice without trying to push any particular operator. The location is ideal only a short walk to the beach and shops.

I lived there for 8 nights as a solo traveler. I checked in the room #309, a spacious corner room with lanai overlook the streets and the swimming pool. A very nice room next to the elevator, so it is very quiet. Like many reviewers mentioned, the room is very clean and room service is every second day. Sometimes I...
