I was concerned with negative reviews at first, but was truly surprised to find the guest rooms completely renovated with tastefully modern design (new beds, bathroom, big screen TV, kitchenette, etc) with complimentary WiFi, perfect for a week stay in Hawaii. Location was excellent- close...More
A lot of criticism from others, but I sort of think they have unrealistic expectations of what this is .. an inexpensive, old hotel in a fabulous location, but under renovation (perhaps finished by now).

This place was dirty. Smelt awful and was being renovated, so was noisy. We had to wait for hours for a room, in the end, they said they could put us in a room but it had two single beds. We took it as we...More

In answer too your question, there is no "on site" parking, at the Poly. I stayed there every year from 1995-2006, and lived there from Feb 2010-Jun 2011. The only parking they had then, was on an adjacent lot. They have have resurfaced that lot, and it is fairly nice, although I do not know its prices. The Poly is "officially made up 5 floors, so if you choose too stay there, ask for a room on the pool side, but away from the pool. Immediately adjacent too the Poly is the (new) Hard Rock Cafe, and it gets a little noisy on weekends. The Poly is an older building, and does not have maid service, or any other amenities. There are washer & dryer's on the 2nd & 4th floors. The last time I was at the Poly, I was only doing a walk thru, seeing if some of my friends who had worked there, were still there. There are not/were not, any soda or candy machines anywhere, but straight out in front of the Poly and across the St, is a ABC Store, much like a 7-11, or other little convenience store...nothing fancy, mostly tourist gifts, soda fountain machine, very little frozen food items. Hope this helps you.

Hi there - we stayed there for 6 weeks or so while waiting for our apartment. It isn't a new hotel in the least - but it is very clean. Comfortable beds. The one bedroom has two - double beds, comfortable chair, desk/chair and dresser (with small fridge) with nice tv on it. There is a "hall" kitchen when you walk in that has a small bar fridge, stove top, microwave and coffee pot. The bathroom has a large closet, shower w/no bathtub, toilet and sink. It is value for money - the staff was helpful also. There is a pool also.
It is located close to everything - can't beat it!! I'll try and post some pics in a few minutes.

"Check progress of renovations .. get a renovated room away from Kalakawa Avenue frontage."
