Ehhhhhh… really disappointed. We traveled in a group of 9 people with 3 rooms. All of the rooms were far apart. So to walk back and forth between rooms means u has to trudge up 3 flights of stairs each time as there are no elevators. Poolside view overlooked stairway and entrance to parking garage - even saying it was a poolside view was a stretch. Can’t sit near pool in the evenings unless u are on a lounger, tables and seat areas are reserved for those ordering dinner. Parking - that could take an entire review. Just a word of warning do more research than believing nice Instagram pics. I travel to Hawaii every year. I would not stay here again.
I booked a 3-night stay via a discount travel website. Took a chance, based on the cute photos. Turns out, they do not do this place justice. It's a sweet oasis in the middle of all the action of Honolulu. The decor is mid-century, a tiki vibe with lots of unique little touches. But the White Sands lacks nothing where modern conveniences are concerned. Each day you can check out beach chairst, boogie boards, etc., and take a short walk straight over to the beach. Super easy. We did that and after a day of fun and sun, with all the people crowding the beach, it was fantastic to enter the friendly confines of this oasis of a hotel. Soft Hawaiian music, and occasional jazz fills the background. There's a restaurant (Hey Day) and a bar with craft cocktails and yummy food. Bartendars were professional and knew how to make a good drink. Everything about this place made us want to come back even before we left. Little things, like the awesome hot tub tucked away in a lava stone cove, away from the pool area. The koi pond. The tiki torches and ambient lighting. Somehow, they managed to make the atmosphere at the pool suitable for families ( couple with babies) and singles, couples, all at the same time. Just an excellent, chill, mellow vibe all around.…
From the moment we arrived for our two-week stay, we were enthralled with the decor and music and vibe of the place! We were greeted with Aloha by the staff who made sure that we were given first floor accommodations, due to our numerous gift items brought for the RIMPAC event. This trip was mostly business, but we managed to fit in several trips to the North Shore. The square tasseled designer umbrellas and the chaise lounges made of wood contributed to the cool factor at the hotel. We did not get to sample the fare at the Hey Day, but did manage to fit in a musical note or two at the circular bar. The lanai plants were very lush and well take care of at the propertyl
Place was in the heart of Waikiki near restaurants , shops and a 10 min walk to the beach......parking was a bit tough because of the limited slots but we eventually had a spot...the only concern was the a strange odor coming from the refrigerator...
This hotel is about 10 minutes by car away from the airport! The hotel is old style Hawaiian and beautiful! There is a beautiful garden area to relax around the pool or on lanai. Additionally, there are shops, entertainment, restaurants and the beach within walking distance! I will definitely make White Sands my go to place when I return!🌴
We had a very enjoyable stay. Live music in the evenings were delightful. Even though we didn’t have a coffee pot in the room coffee was available at the front desk. The food was very good. Hotel beds were comfortable and room was very clean. Showers were small but it wasn’t a big deal! Overall great stay!!
highly recommend this hotel!! It is a Fun, Comfortable, Clean and Trendy Hotel Right in the heart of Waikiki. Walking distance to beach, restaurants, ABC Stores, shopping. Service from the hotel and restaurant/pool side was amazing, the restaurant was delicious and affordable. Pool is clean and had floats to use, they did a pool party on Sunday which was SO FUN. The room was very comfortable and trendy however there was construction and constant noise going on in the garage next to our room so sleep quality was poor.
This hotel is small, yet it has a nice pool with a bar and nightly entertainment, which ends at a reasonable time so if you’re close to the pool, you can sleep without too much noise. And the staff if tops!
Please make sure to review final invoices as it tend to be extra hidden charges that don’t match the total amount. The itemized bill is also very confusing as it breaks down differently as the original reservation confirmation.
Nice little boutique hotel in the heart of Waikiki. Top restaurants and the beach just around the corner. The pool and its bar are amazing and we look forward to coming back. Also check out the live music they have playing every evening
