Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Great modern and updated room. Clean and modern bathroom. Good temperature control. No strange smells One of the nicest breakfast buffets. Welcome flower necklace was such a nice touch. Unbeatable location and view. I would recommend and stay here again.

Had a great stay on the 32nd floor! Lived the view, balcony was awesome! Location was perfect. The restaurant had a good musician one night. The pools were nice , I enjoyed the adult pool!. The front desk and the service was very helpful and friendly. It was good to have a Starbucks right inside the hotel.

Big hotel. Good room size for two adults. Clean. We had to be pushy to get the ocean view that we paid for, as initial room was not ocean view but faced another building and the front desk was responsive when we called and pushed back. Nice amenities but clearly families are the target customer. Fyi, the ‘adult’ restaurants are only open from 5:30-9:30. We didn’t want to wait in line that had begun to form 45 min early and when we got back for nightcap at 10, it was too late so can’t say how nice they are. Noisy but that’s expected considering we’re on the busiest and so noisiest part of Waikiki.

The Waikiki Beach Marriott’s recent renovation is noticeably inviting, well appointed and ladled with amenities. From the minute you arrive to it’s drive way and get greeted by the valets, to check in and be received with leis; to arriving in the fresh rooms, it is all pleasant again and again. Hawaii is 1970s no more, starting with the Waikiki Beach Marriott. The room is really spacious and inviting; and the bed is super comfortable. The hotel has great restaurants on site; two pools with awesome cabana for rent; games for little and big kids alike; and on-site laundromat! Folks can even rent cars with an on-site Enterprise rental. Located closer to diamond head, it’s a great location to walk up and down Waikiki, and is just across the road from the beach.

The location of this hotel is simply excellent. It is almost right on Waikiki Beach. It is ideally located in close proximity to fabulous dining, shopping, entertainment, nightlife, etc. The hotel has many amenities and facilities such as several restaurants, outdoor swimming pools, activities for kids and families, games, tours, Enterprise car rental, bike rental, ice cream parlor, ABC Store, etc. all on the premises. The hydration stations were a pleasant surprise! What more could one ask for? The service from staff at the front desk and Housekeeping is excellent. I would like to acknowledge Brenda from Housekeeping for outstanding service. She would inquire about service several times a day and provided amenities even without asking. The only reason I gave the hotel four stars is because noise reduction could have been improved. One can hear conversations from the neighboring room clearly. The noise from the street below is also a nuisance and disturbance at night, even on the 18th floor! Other than that, it's a decent value for money.

I had a terrible experience at the hotel due to bed bugs at the beginning of the month. The staff has been completely unhelpful after my visit and tried to sweep the problem under the rug. My room was 827 or 927. Make sure you avoid.

We had a great time here for our anniversary trip. I'm a germophobe and it was really clean. The bed was comfortable and they had 2 types of pillows per person (so it was great having a choice. ) We enjoyed the free guest activities and amenities. Painting and hula lessons were really fun. ( We did ukelele lessons and didn't enjoy as much.) We liked that they included lots of extra perks like borrowing chairs or beach towels to take with you to any beach. They also had a set up where you could also rent beach chairs and umbrellas near the hotel for free. They seperated out pools by adult or family- which was great. (They will give you a card with activities and days when you arrive.) The deck area is absolutely gorgeous. The staff was friendly and quickly responsive to any concerns. Rainbow, near the pool area, was particularly helpful and even learned our names. Things that we didn't love- the parking garage ( very packed), not exactly beach front ( need to walk on street area to get there), and the section of beach nearby had some homeless people. But overall we would stay here again. :)

Stayed here for five nights, while visiting with family for a wedding. Also, stayed here nine years ago. The hotel is newly refurbished and just beautiful. Our room was in the back tower but had an amazing view, we were on the 25 floor, our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, the king bed was very comfortable, lots of towels too. They now have an adults only pool area with a bar service, great fun and lots of sun loungers. Fantastic pool attendant, well done to Rainbow for taking such good care of us. Check in was so easy, the girl even managed to get us into our room at 11.30 am, very pleased with that. Didn’t do the breakfast restaurant this time, far too expensive … Great stay! .

Had a fabulous work trip over 8 days at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The attendant on the 33rd floor, when seen, was friendly and always welcoming and asking if anything else was needed. Upon checking in an amenity gift was given. When a wall outlet didn’t work an engineer brought up a power strip to work in 5 min. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom and showers modern. Have future business trips scheduled to Honolulu and would stay there again. Kudos to the team.

This Marriott resort is a very nice hotel. Our room in the Kealohilani tower to be spacious and comfortable. Our balcony had a lounger and 2 chairs, plus a small table. We could see the ocean from our balcony and it was nice to be able to sit and relax out there. The pool area is also very nice. There are some games there for families to enjoy. Plenty of seating and cabanas for rent. Queensbreak restaurant food is OK. The Kuhio beach grill breakfast is amazing! It is pricey but everything in Waikiki is. The quality of the food at the breakfast was impeccable - they had a huge variety and plenty of fresh fruit. The service in both the Queensbreak and the Kuhio beach grill was excellent. Madonna in the Kuhio Beach Grill greeted us with such warmth and kindness - she is a true gem. The location of the hotel is great - it is further south along Waikiki beach so it is easier to find space on the beach (either on Kuhio beach or a short walk down to Queen's beach). The hotel is very generous with towels and the housekeeping is very efficient. All of the staff we interacted with were helpful and kind. We did not experience any issues during our stay and really enjoyed this hotel, the amenities and the location. Again, all the staff were wonderful and really care about their guests. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
