The Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites is a classic oceanfront hotel situated on the Ala Wai Yacht Marina at the edge of Waikiki and just a short stroll to Ala Moana Shopping Center and 2 blocks to the Hawaii Convention Center. Internationally recognized as the famous opening shot of Hawaii Five-O with Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett standing on the penthouse balcony overlooking Waikiki Beach, the hotel is truly a Waikiki landmark. Each guest room and suite features extra spacious accommodations with a large lanai offering fabulous views. The hotel walkway from the lobby leads to the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon and beach.
With our amenity fee for all stays, Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites allows guests to enjoy many hotel services and activities without having to incur miscellaneous charges. You'll also enjoy two heated swimming pools, fitness room, coffee shop, restaurants, Shell lei greeting upon arrival, free admission to Bishop Museum (one adult and children under 17) and The Honolulu Museum of Art (one adult and children under 18), and more.
Previous residents of Hawaii, now living in Washington state; we had returned for a family reunion/wedding. This was our first time staying at The Ilikai Hotel and we were not disappointed. Easily accessible to dining and entertainment. Hotel itself in my opinion located in a prime location where you can enjoy beautiful ocean and sunset views that are not obstructed by other hotels. Rooms are a modern feel and clean. Staff are very welcoming and exudes aloha that I miss so much. Ho'omaika'i Ilikai! Thank you taking care of our ohana
Have been to HI almost every year and this was our first stay here. I was a little apprehensive before getting there, but was very pleased with all facets of our stay. They even give the newspaper every morning, and give coupons for free waters and Dave's ice cream down in the lobby. Didn't have a chance but really wanted to try Pesca's (the restaurant at the top). Will definitely try on our next stay at the Ilikai!
3rd visit to the Ilikai Condo hotel. We love the location and what the Ilikai has to offer. We rented unit 1335 this time and were disappointed with the unit’s cleanliness and overall condition. Very dirty carpets, walls and baseboards could use a good cleaning and mystery debris above the shower as well as no dining table on the lanai and the sliding door did not lock. The bed however was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. This unit needs a good scrubbing and a little TLC. Out of the three units we have rented this was our least favourite.
This worked out well as a week long business trip location. It was clean and well located close to ABC and a walk away from Ala Moana. Unfortunately, no self parking, only valet. If you get the Kamaaina deal it is definitely worth it!
Overall, we are very happy about the service. Staff was super quick in responding to request for more towels, toilet paper, hand towels, pick up trash, etc. A bit far from the center of the strip but very close to Ala Moana Mall.
I always stay at the Ilikai when I am on Oahu. It is very clean and comfortable. I like that the room has a full kitchen. And the large lanai is a big plus. it is a very good location on Waikiki - easy access.
What's best about the Ilikai: 1. The location - quiet and serene yet close to the action, on the bus route and on the water, with a convenience store nearby for any needs 2. The views - we had a view of the boat harbor and ocean, with spectacular sunsets! 3. The extra space - how fabulous to have a kitchen and a balcony with a living area, compared to the typical small rooms in Waikiki! 4. The amenities - laundry room on the floor (which was clean and not busy), shops and restaurant/snacks available onsite, live Hawaiian music, relaxing places to sit amidst lush landscaping, and Hertz rental car in the lobby (though hours were limited and we had to return to central Waikiki later that evening) 5. The spectacular entrance - great first impression and a feeling of the iconic Hawaiian welcome 6. The well kept older building - can't believe it was built in the 60s! Feels clean and well cared for. …
Excellent that's amazing trip my stay was Blass and well be planning coming back for our next trip this time well try make it a little longer stay my kids enjoy the pool lobby ice cream was amazing they where really nice
We rented a condo from a private owner in this hotel so our unit may not have represented the actual hotel rooms. Our condo had a noisy AC unit and constantly running building exhaust system which was quite noticeable. We actually loved the location as it was not right in the center of the crowds but close enough to easily access several beaches, restaurants, and attractions. The main thing we didn't like was the mandatory valet parking if you want to park onsite. We did not like the price ($35 per night), the wait each time arriving and leaving, the fact that others were driving our rental car, and the inconvenience of not being able to easily retrieve an item left in the car. We didn't use the car for quick errands or to run to a restaurant because of the hassle. Also, we had a new scrape on the rental car when we checked out which they refused to accept responsibility for. There are a couple of self parking garages within a couple of blocks which we should have moved to in retrospect.…
We have stayed at the ilikai 10 times or more over the past 20 years. The location is excellent yet it has failed to keep up with the standard of neighbouring resorts. Our family has over 30years in this business. We have stayed in both the condo's and hotel rooms. It is sad the management has let this once great hotel become tired and have failed to bring it into the 21st century. Managenent is sadly lacking and we will now have our vacations at other resorts. While most staff are greaf the building and amenities are really showing there age. So that customers see this yet management do not.
