The Armed Forces Recreational Center's Hale Koa Hotel on old Fort Derussse in Waikiki is a stunning tribute to the military and their families. It's literally the only greenery on Waikiki and the Hale Koa staff maintain the grounds in a loving, meticulous manner. The rooms and other hotel facilities rival any three-plus star hotel on the strip, but the...

The fact that this beautiful resort is in Hawaii certainly doesn't hurt. From check in to check out, everything ran so smoothly. The bar outside offers many specialty drinks, but the Mai Tai is it's claim to fame. And it doesn't disappoint. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well serviced. There isn't a single part of this place that merits...

Hale Koa Hotel is a nice hotel. Nice beach, nice pools, nice stores....just nice. We are a family of four (two adults and two children) We were placed in the Maile tower looking over the pool and trees. However with two children you can not use this pool as this is for adults only, you must walk to the Ilima...

We have stayed here several times over the past 10 years and wouldn't stay anywhere else on Waikiki. Other reviewers have described the rooms, services, and location, so I won't repeat that. We like the rooms and amenities, and enjoy the ocean view from the balcony. The restaurants are good, not great, but you are within walking distance of so...

It was a nice hotel for what you pay for it. It is nice staying there knowing that military is only there and you get a lesser cost for being military. I was a little disappointed that the "ocean view" we paid extra for was only seen if you actually went out on the balcony and looked over... And it...

We are currently enjoying our third stay at the Hale Koa. I very much appreciate the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, the food choices, and the prices/rates. There isn't a better stretch of beach on Waikiki, and we even enjoyed watching some fireworks at an adjacent hotel. You just can't beat the value! The only drawback I've noticed is...

What could be better than to be right on Waikiki Beach?! Not only is there a beach but also a park. Service is wonderful with the staff more than willing to help you with any concerns you may have. Try the Heaven on Earth Spa. I had a wonderful facial that left my skin glowing. Parking is across the street...

This isn't the Ritz. Yes you pay a premium for location. Our room wasn't fancy. All that said, it was a nice room that was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. We paid the extra for the better view. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Our reservation ran out and we had to stay a couple extra days next...

We had an amazing 7 days here! The rooms were beautiful and clean. There were several days we left after 11:30 for an activity and noticed that housekeeping had already pasted our room. We figures we missed it, but came back later that night to find that they came back once we left. Check out was quick as it was...
