Stayed 4 nights. Michael and Heather do a fantastic job with this place, they are super nice and they are Newport experts. I do my research when we go on vacation, but they had some great tips for us. We were in the Ida Lewis room on the second floor which has a nice balcony under a huge, old tree....

We had a lovely weekend at the Samuel Durfee House! We stayed in the Perry Room which was romantic, cozy and luxurious! The bed and bed linens were beautiful. The House is in the perfect location!! My husband and I stayed at the Samuel Durfee House for three nights and found it to be a wonderful experience. We stayed in the lovely Perry room which was very comfortable and well kept. We have stayed here a number of times over the years and keep going back to this little gem for the extraordinary hospitality. The rooms are beautiful and consistently clean, quiet and comfortable. Location is ideal too, blocks from the waterfront.. Also, you have not lived until you've had Michael's signature breakfast. Delicious every time! Look forward to our next...

We stayed at the Samuel Durfee House for three nights of our New England driving vacation. Michael and Heather (the hosts) have executed a wonderful restoration of this historic Federal period home. One street up from downtown restaurants and shopping, this lovely federal period inn put us in the mindset of New England history and visits to the fabled mansions of Newport. Out host and hostess met every need and exceeded all expectations with delicious breakfasts and afternoon coffee, tea and sweets service. The Durfee House is a rare find.
