My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary in Newport, Rhode Island. As beautiful as Newport is, with so much to do and so much beauty, the Atwater absolutely made our vacation! The hotel, room, amenities, homemade breakfast and treats, and the hospitality of all staff were exceptional. Billy and Andrea, the General Managers of the Atwater, are professional,... More

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 7 July 2016 via mobile

We have been coming to Newport every summer for 22 years. This was definitely my favorite hotel stay! The Attwater is off the main Newport roads but close enough to be very convenient. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated. The service was incredible- very friendly and responsive. The small plates breakfast was fantastic- lots of different tastes- my... More

The Attwater is beautiful and in a perfect walking distance to both the harborfront action on Thames and the magnificent mansions on Bellevue. The bed was super comfortable and the room was spacious, clean, and bright. My only "complaints" are that for the price we paid, I expected a larger/nicer bathroom, and the walls were thin; both nights we heard... More

The staff were exceptionally helpful about all the sightseeing in the area. They also were great in recommending restaurants. The breakfasts were like little appetizers in size but were good. Be prepared to walk, because everything is close to this hotel. The room was clean. The gym was ok, could use more equipment, but again it was clean.

Loved this hotel! From check in where they gave us an ipad with Newport Info on dining, sips, shopping and things to do and a plate of delicious chocolate chip cookies. Room decor fun! Included breakfast yummy. Fitness center small but adequate. Close to everything. Will return!

We loved our stay at The Attwater, the design and comfort of this place makes every turn a new experience, plenty of quiet spots on all levels with a beautiful deck, the lounge rooms offer alternate relaxing spaces. Breakfast in the mornings offer that something different from the normal American cook ups', here you can take small portions of delicate... More

Loved this quirky little boutique hotel. A nice change from the larger chains. We stayed in the Lark Suite so our son had his own space. Free car parking. Micheal greeted us and was very nice and provided useless tips. Small fitness room next to hotel. Breakfast plates really nice. Try Jo's Bistro and Charles Cookhouse for dinner. Annie's good... What a unique and special hotel! The staff was so down to earth and nice. We had a king junior suite on the third floor. Really cute. Great bathroom. Two huge TV's. Great location, easily walkable to great restaurants and shops, but away from the crowds.

We enjoyed staying at the Attwater Hotel which describes itself as a "boutique hotel", "stylish" and with "unconventional flair". I am being a bit picky here so please take this in perspective, but there was an element of style over substance. While it was stylish and colourful, our first impression on stepping inside the hotel doorway, was that the hall... More

The Attwater. What a great place. Quiet, friendly and in a great position, close enough to easily walk the Cliff Walk and stroll into town. Not usually a bed and breakfast person, but this place may have just changed my mind.
