Rooms are very clean, nice comfortable bed and pillows, we had a balcony with two chairs. We had a view of the mountains, we say deer crossed our view. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It is in a great location near the Luray Caverns, Tower, and four (4) other attractions in the area!
The wife and I decided to visit luray caverns for some relaxation and stayed at the luray caverns motel what a horrible experience the heat in the room was not working the tissue box was empty the mirror had toothpaste splatter all over it the tv only worked on a couple of channels there were hand prints all over the inside of the window the hot water knob kept spinning there was plywood over the window on the room door and when I expressed my dissatisfaction they said oh we’ll have to tell the maid never any mention of sorry or discount offered for our troubles would have been better to sleep in the car, absolutely horrible horrible experience and service I don’t recommend staying here at all!
My wife and I and our 6 year old grandson stayed in room #124 of the Luray Caverns Motel West. This room had everything you'd need. It was clean, had a mountain view, was quiet, and was fully supplied. We had a roll away bed for our grandson. The people at the front desk (they are the East motel) couldn't have been nicer. The price was a bargain. If you want fancy, this isn't it. If you want a superb value and want a place very near Luray Caverns, this can't be beat!
Our room was small, dingy, and had an overwhelming smell of mildew. The bathroom window - with no screen - was open when we arrived. The door dividing our room from our neighbors had no working lock. A weak chain - literally dangling from a single loose screw was supposed to keep the two rooms separate. The TV - a large cathode ray tube - might have been connected to cable. Some channels had no sound at all. Some had a heavy buzz of white noise over the audio. Other reviews have mentioned breathtaking scenic views. To be clear, the "scenic view" available at this property is a mowed back yard, a line of brush obscuring the mountains in the background. We ended up leaving for dinner and never coming back. Extremely disappointing.
You can't get much closer, or find a better rate. It is not the Ritz Carlton, but it's clean and close to everything. If you want to be close and stay on budget, you won't be disappointed. Views and grounds were nice. Great for the overnight stay, again it is not the high end modern hotel, it is a revamped piece of history with a great feel.
The office staff was extremely helpful and friendly but the rooms left much to be desired. This motel does not use fitted sheets so there are only 2 loose flat sheets and a worn comforter covering the mattress. Room 120 West is a connected room which I don't believe was explained on the website- there is a locked door separating the room next door but it looks worn and unreliable. A/C unit was not consistent which left the room warm and humid.
This motel was VERY Clean and it had breath taking views. It was also a plus that the Office staff people were wonderful and inviting. and of course it was close to the caverns. I will definitely be staying here next time I visit!!!
Stayed here recently and must say that it is pretty outdated. However, it was quite cheap due to the fact that our stay occurred during the winter. Definitely more of an apartment feel to it rather than just a motel room. Location is perfect though as Luray Caverns is a very short distance away. All in all, not too bad.
Though the name says motel, its actually an apartment which is not advertised. Having said that, it was ok, nothing great. No utinsils were provided in the apartment and for 4 beds, there is only 1 bathroom which is a let down. Nonetheless, has a good view and was clean for the period that I stayed.
well really not sure now if it was east r west the room was up the road from where you paid in another building, was clean enough but had a plug in air freshener in the room we put it outside in a bush the room reeked from it,the bushes out side smell like cat pee lots of it ,someone came and took the freshener overnight,we didnt miss it,the pool was dirty lots of leaves and layer of dirt floating around.we did not use it, old fashion shower but clean, was a great location for the caverns
