We stayed at the Lazy J 5 nights. I wasn't sure what to expect as the pictures don't do it justice. The outdated bedspreads have been updated and rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The gas fireplace warmed our room well. We had a microwave and small refrigerator which was very convenient. Staff is friendly and free movies are available in the office. The river is a short walk and shouldn't be missed. Location is great. Close to Sequoia entrance and restaurants. There are menus in the office. We would stay here again.
This is by no means a luxury motel. It is family run, and very basic. But it is clean, and we were comfortable for one night. We liked that it was very quiet at night. We were there in August, and it was extremely hot outside - still in the 90's at night. The room A/C wasn't great. In fact, it took us awhile to get it to work at all. Our room barely cooled down to a comfortable sleeping temperature. The room was spacious, and the bathroom adequate. Bed was ok. The wifi was awful. We could really only get it to work if we stood near the door to the room. Thank goodness, we did not have any pressing issues to deal with. The lady at check-in was very sweet, and we loved the family cat. We did not use the pool because there were quite a few others in there, and we did not wish to be that close. It seemed like it would be a good place to stay with kids. This would be a good base camp for the area.…
Stayed 1 night prior to visiting the park. Friendly staff, clean room. Good alternative to fancy resorts, better than some hotel chains we've stayed at. Can sit outside and enjoy the quiet, or take a short walk and explore the river.
We stayed in two cabins and had a great time. Sequoia National Park in the morning, river floating in the morning, and pool in the evening. Plenty of space to safely hang out. The restaurants are open with patio seating, but the cabins have full kitchens. They also have bbq's available for your use. We had a great stay even if we were a bit loud in the evening. We stayed in cabins 2 and 3 and never had a problem with our cellphones or the WiFi.
Lazy J is located in Three Rivers a perfect stop before entering Sequoia National Park. It has a series of bungalows quite spacious and equipped with fridge and microwave. There is also a coffee machine (not Keurig). It is dog friendly and there is a patch of grass to walk the dog. The pool is ideal when it is hot. And there are bbq next to it to use. A path leads to a stream very popular with families. You can swim easily because the water is not deep. Because of Covid-19 there is no breakfast so make sure to bring something to eat with you. About 2 miles up the road there is a market that has everything you need. Another down point is the internet: the wifi is very, painfully slow. Forget doing anything urgent on the internet. And know that there is poor service if you have T-Mobile. We stayed one night. The owners are nice and there are goats and digs on the property but they are in pens.…
