This resort is 1st class all the way around! So many things to do and see! Loved the snow! Follow printed rules! Staff is professional, fun and knowledgeable. The views are lovely. The best experience ever!

We went for our anniversary. The property is beautiful and just far enough from town to make you feel like you're in the country. The room was large as was the balcony. The staff were all locals so they could answer any question I had...More

In August 2016, I arranged for a 2-hour trail ride for 5 individuals at Bishop’s Lodge Stables. For 3 of the 5 riders the experience was good. However, one of the horses was very old and was not trail-worthy. He walked very slowly at first...More

The resort is closed right now [July 20216] and they plan to reopen in late Spring of 2017. The site is spectacular - wooded, peaceful, with a wonderful 'historic' feel to it. When the Resort re-opens, it is going to be amazing - so just...More

About
Description
In August of 1851, a Frenchman, Jean Baptiste Lamy, arrived in the NM Territory as the first Bishop of Santa Fe. Here he built a private retreat; his chapel still stands today, now on the national register of More historic places. After Lamy's Death, the land was acquired by the Pulitzer publishing family as a private vacation retreat. In 1917, the Thorpe family from Denver fell in love with these pristine acres, bought the property and developed the first resort in the state. Today Bishop's Lodge comprises 15 lodges for a total of 110 rooms ranging in sizes from 250 sq feet to 450, not to mention a 2000 sq foot Presidential Suite. Many of our rooms feature fireplaces and the majority all have outdoor access to patios, lawns or balconies. Our ShaNah Spa and Wellness Center which opened up in June of 2002 is a sanctuary where one can take time out to be nurtured by Mother Nature, guided by ancient wisdon and touched by angels. The experience may change your life. Other activities are abundant such as: trap/skeet shooting (offered to groups of 10 or monmre roomnights), horseback, pony trail rides, hiking, mountain biking, fitness center, excercise studio, outdoor pool, whirlpool and tennis to mention a few. Bishop's Lodge is located just 3 miles from the Historic Santa Fe Plaza. Complimentary shuttle service is provided by the lodge at scheduled times daily. Less

Wait until renovations are completed. This is my suggestion for anyone traveling anywhere renovations are ongoing.

Hi there, it's farther than 2 miles from downtown...north of Paseo de Peralta about 5 miles and is a little hard to find. Lower your expectations.
