I always enjoy staying at the Menger - the location, the history and it is gorgeous. This trip I was in San Antonio for three days with my daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons. The first morning, there was a problem with the water heater and I had to shower in cold water. While shaving, I questioned the cleaning crew as...

Pros: The menger was a beautiful hotel, there was alot of history to see and great stores lined the foyer. The location was awesome and even for a basic room we had a perfect view of the Alamo and the fountain in the Alamo courtyard. Very clean and tidy, it was cozy and comfortable. The hotel staff was great from...

The lobby was cool. We requested a balcony and they were courteous. The room was small but the hotel alone had a lot to do. We really enjoyed it! My boys loved the old school stuff. The Alamo, the Riverwalk, and everything was right outside our door. Awesome for our young children!

Best location ever. Lots or restaurants and bars around. Walkable areas to best downtown attractions. Historic walking areas. The Alamo, Convention Center, The Riverwalk, La Villita, SA Market, everything is in a walking distance. Fair price for the location. Antique furniture in room.Clean but old fashined.

The hotel has beautiful grounds in the courtyard and swimming pool but if I were to stay here again, I would ask for a room away from the front street. The location is where the double decker buses leave from. There is also a plaza in front which also attracted many people that had no concept of time till about...

Very cool and historical hotel. Everything was great. The bar, lobby, and courtyard area are very neat and display the history of the hotel. Our room was clean neat. I like the feel of the hotel. Never know if you could see a ghost. Also, everything is very close to the hotel, easy walking distance.

We stayed in the Roy Rogers suite, on the second floor of this historic hotel. Perfect check-in experience. Beautiful hotel. Magnificent suite! Huge balcony with a table overlooking Alamo plaza. Complete silence at night. Everything about this hotel makes me want to come back to a suite at the Menger!

What a neat hotel downtown next to the Alamo! Of course it's a little dated, it was built in the late 1800s, but that adds to the charm. There are a lot of neat paintings and antiques to explore throughout the hotel. The staff was among the most polite and accommodating of any hotel staff that I've encountered. They give...

Steps away from the Riverwalk boat landing and restaurants, the Menger was very relaxing, quiet and had the perfect location. The pool was the stuff of old Hollywood, you could actually swim a lap in it! History throughout, especially enjoyed hotel bar where Teddy Roosevelt recruited his Rough Riders. Directly across from the Alamo and the hop-on-hop-off bus tour, this...
