Check in was great Abel, Valene and Brittany were great they upgraded my wife and I to a balcony room for $50.00. When we returned from a evening out. The room was cold. I tried to get the heater to work. But couldn’t. Went to front desk she came up with a space heater. My wife had to wear her coat all night. About 4am it finally got warm enough to fall asleep
Beautiful room, friendly staff, super modern Air conditioning which was needed as temperature outside was 105 degrees, within a short walk to the Alamo and Riverwalk will certainly be back there again. This is a Historic hotel not a fully modern one, but it was very clean beds really comfortable, there is parking out the front of hotel across the road but there is also a covered car park beside the hotel, overall this hotel was one of the best I’ve stayed in San Antonio and we will definitely be back.
AVOID this hotel! They are poorly managed and do not have your best interests in mind. We traveled to San Antonio on a business trip to attend a meeting of an international organization we are members of. We booked a room at this hotel for October 22 which was a day before the event began and were supposed to meet other members that evening. After a 14 hour travel day, the hotel called us as we were getting our luggage to inform us they were overbooked and they did not have a room. When we asked them for assistance in locating another hotel close by, they told us "you are on your own". We made several attempts to contact their manager who was always "too busy" to take our calls. When she did call back, she left a voice message in which she blatantly lies. She advised she "blocked" the room that morning of our arrival so could not understand why Expedia would book the room. This is an outright lie. We actually booked the room nearly 60 days in advance, so it was not a last minute booking. Expedia advised us the hotel is responsible for advising the inventory of their rooms, which this hotel did not. Expedia further advised their contract requires the property assist in placing customers at nearby properties at similar rates when an overbooking occurs. The hotel denied they are required to provide any assistance whatsoever and refused any compensation. We were forced to book a temporary hotel far from the downtown location we needed to be. We incurred higher transporation costs and other additional costs. We were unable to complete our obligations that evening as the whole idea was to be able to meet on the River Walk with our colleagues. In hotel managers flippant response in the message she left, specifically she advised regarding any compensation "ain't gonna happen". When we went by the hotel, the front desk staff advised the manager was somewhere on site but not answering her pages. The staff further said they new about arrangements with other hotels in the area to take overbooked guests, however they had not been trained to handle it. I recommend you avoid this hotel as they demonstrated they do not care about their customers, only their wallet. Management does not care about their guests, only their bottom line. …
Cute historic hotel. Quiet and is good for date nights. Close to river walk and plenty of parking next to hotel. Old fashioned claw foot tub in rooms. Great for soaking will be staying here again reasonably priced for the area
I knew I wasn’t booking a 5 star hotel but this was pretty bad. We booked two nights and left after the first. The air in the room doesn’t blow and they have a fan. The shower was gross. The toilet obviously has plumbing issues as it bubbles and doesn’t flush properly. I paid $20 to park in the very tiny parking lot and someone took my spot. The best part about this hotel was the location. Would not recommend.
Zero stars are too many for this rundown, disgusting hotel- and that is absolutely including the staff. We haven't even stepped into the foyer without being absolutely incredibly disrespected from the staff. George at the front desk was extremely unhelpful and rude. He would not let us get a word in at all. And was constantly talking over us with a arrogant, demeaning tone. He even threatened to call the police when we tried to explain the card situation with him. He absolutely refused to help us and hear us the entire time. If you ask me the front desk of a hotel is feeding too much into his ego. His blatant disrespect was not appreciated at all. He was one of the rudest individuals I've met on my entire three week trip here. Having been talked to like that as a women was truly an insult to me and my entire family. This has made an major impact on my trip and I truly hope that this hotel management fixes their mistakes or I fear that other people will feel personally attacked and unsafe as I did. His hostile actions honestly scared me. I will never return and I hope others take this as a warning to this un safe environment. Also the floors were caked in grease and bugs. I have no doubt the owner will come back with the same lies in a response that they have in all the places I am leaving reviews- and that's fine. I know the truth, and so does his incompetent staff. There are PLENTY of other honest reviews that paint a very clear picture of exactly what this establishment is.…
Paper thin walls; pipes that were so loud that it woke me up every 15 minutes; huge hairball in the bathtub and strands of hair scattered throughout the bathroom; film of dust on appliances; broken lock on door; holes in wall.
First and foremost the staff is very friendly and helpful! The hotel itself is ok it really does need some upgrades definitely keep the historic part but needs some serious help. One thing I was a little bugged about is apparently on booking I received a free upgrade with a double queen instead of a king don’t do it stick with king. They are definitely not queen size beds more like full size. The breakfast wasn’t bad you definitely get your 10 dollars worth. It is close to the Riverwalk and just across the street from La Vallita.
Where shall I start? only two bath towels and mugs even though reservation for three, one towel with rust stains, a persistent stain in the toilet bowl, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, disgusting watery coffee pack... for that price??? "Queen" beds are not 60" wide. I don't think the parking we were pushed to take was needed; there is a parking lot in the next lot with a $5 sign. The location is great!
Dirty, Bugs, broken appliances, Black Mold, Broken pluming fixtures. I've stayed in better hotels in 3rd world countries. Hotel staff is awful, rude, lies etc. We had 2 nights booked. A family member was attacked by bed bugs. We were offered another room or leave and get a refund for the second night. We ran for hills for our health safety. All to find we were charged for the night we didn't even stay there. It gets worse we were charged double. When you call or email George will not speak to you or email back. Don't let the words "Historic Boutique" fool you this place is a "Historic DUMP.' The owner answers all negative comments by the customer wants a free room or they were violent. Another HUGE lie, DO NOT give this place your money. Save the time and credit card disputes for a more reputable place.…
