Sick for 11 days and had to see my doctor and took medications for 6 days. There were black ashes mixed with ice cubes that went into my cooler. After cleaning the ice cubes used thought to be clean —- have fruits and drinks in the cooler. Must got sick from eating the fruits that were mixed with ice.
We came in about 8:00 PM exhausted saw a German roach crawling on the bed. Saw 8-10 others. Inattentive staff. Filthy tables at breakfast. Heater made clanking noise all night. Let staff know at checkout of roach problem. Didn’t even phase them. Manager ignored me and kept talking with fellow employee about personal matters.
The hotel didnt offer any cleaning during my 6 nights. The internet was announced to be ultra high speed, but it was very slow. The breakfast area were very dirty and the food very simple. Most of the staff were brand new and didnt know how to handle things.
For not having a car, or even having one, the location can't be beat! It has San Antonio's electronic bike rental racks on the property, the bus stops at the property, as does the riverwalk. A medium super market is just across the street with beer and wine and fresh hot pizza - have them pour you a $4 pint while you shop or eat. Rent the electric bikes for $20 a month and enjoy unlimited 1 hour or less rides - they are so much fun! The room was bigger than most but the shower could be nicer. The breakfast was adequate, but on the lower end of the hotel chain just above this. They ran out of cinnamon rolls on Sunday and the bulk yogurt in a cup is kinda weird. The elevators are painfully slow to arrive. I would definitely stay here again.
Staff is very helpful, especially if you are celebrating a special event. The location is very central to the River walk, mall, Alamo Dome, restaurants and more! Parking spots are small and fill up during nearby events (especially at Alamo Dome), so park early and try not to move your car.
for the pricepoint during a convention, this was a good option and VERY close to the conventional hall, 5 minute walk. If you are on a budget and can't afford the Hilton or Hyatt, this was a good choice. Rooms met my needs for a solo business trip occupant
Arrived with my wife for a work conference that she was attending. Initially walking in, everything seemed fine. Definitely not a new hotel but whatever. There were 3 people hanging around at the front desk. The other two were just hanging out while one helped us check in. The gal helping out was able to switch us from 2 queens to 1 king which was cool. When we got to our room there was no hand soap. No biggie called down but apparently there was no one available to bring anything up… so we could go down and grab one whenever we wanted. It’s not like a crazy big deal, but I felt like, come on, I know none of you are doing anything and I’ve literally never been to a hotel where they’ve had me go down to pick anything up. The room however, left everything to be desired. I know the hotel isn’t new but I don’t think it’s been updated since it was built. The light fixtures when we got there were all askew. The sink, counter, toilet, and tub all look pretty gross. Not like filthy but just worn beyond where they should be. There are multiple spots in walls that have been busted/broken. There was water damage along the ceiling line. Broken tiles, drapes have stains on them, the door knob only opens the door about half the time, fluorescent light fixture in the bathroom has no cover and flickers constantly, torn up carpet along the edges. For some reason the counter in the bathroom is insanely low. MAYBE 3 feet high. Mostly, all in all, just not well kept. And this hotel was not cheap. Nearly $300 per night. I don’t normally stay in La Quintas so I can’t compare it to any others, but I have to imagine that this is below par for them. The bed was fairly comfortable but I think the pillows were the smallest pillows I’ve ever used in my life.…
The staff is the best. If anything is broken or needs attention, let them know and they will fix it cheerfully. My mother had a problem with her door handle. It was catching so it make it very hard for her to open. I also had problems with it so I let them know and Eric, the Chief Maintance Engineer, showed up and fixed it immediately. My mom was so happy! So nice to have good people working to make your stay the best like Jesse, Eric, and Mike. The car vallet was great too, but I didn't ge his name..
The hotel room smelled awful--it smelled like a combination of urine and deodorizer used for cover up old, stale cigarette smoke. Each time the AC kicked in the rooms were filled w/the odor of urine. Also, there was 0 cleaning services throughout our 5 day stay. We were instructed to leave our soiled line and trash in the hallways. Because of this, the corridor smelled awful and resembled a homeless camp filled with trash and soiled towels. Our room had 0 toilet paper and Kleenex. The staff would only give us one roll at a time, so we had to troll for tp everyday. The complimentary hot breakfast the staff boosted about when we checked in turned out to be tire old scrabbled eggs and nasty tasting sausage and a few other options. The towels and bed linens were tired and worn and in bad shape. We were not the least bit happy with the accommodations. Had I known what I was getting myself into, I would have paid the extra amount to stay elsewhere. The street noise was out of control and made it difficult to get a good night's rest. As it were I had no idea the hotel was in such poor shape and had little services and by the time I figured it out, it was too late to book elsewhere. We were in town for HCD conference and the hotels in the vicinity were booked…
Gabriel was awesome! He went far beyond to please us. Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz now I know my abcs won’t you come and said with me abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz. Abcdefghijklmnop
