Three houses and a cabin right on the Riverwalk. Outdoor seating and wrap around porches to sit and relax. Meet fluffy and caramel the chickens. 👍 Breakfast is 8:30-9:30 don't miss it. Eggs made to order by Margaret. No overcooked rubber eggs here.
My wife and I stayed here at the Inn when I was attending a conference. Wonderful & peaceful place to stay. Close to everything. Breakfast is amazing! Great get away. Old housing but bed and room very clean and heaven nights rest.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay atThe Inn at the Riverwalk. The Cottage House was perfect for the four couples. The breakfasts were amazing everyday and the location was ideal for accessing many of the sites of San Antonio. Roland, the owner was delightful and very knowledgeable of all things San Antonio. We would definitely stay here again.
Margritte was a wonderful cook...great dushes, And the owner..and his son..could not have been kinder. Lovely room overlooking the river. Very private and clean. I highly recommend . We were here for a week.
We stayed here in October/November 2022 in the penthouse room in main building which featured attractive private balconies. Overall we were pleased with the stay. The chief benefit of this inn is its excellent location in a quiet area next to the Riverwalk. it is conveniently near the eateries in the Southside and close to the interesting King William area. Likewise it is only 7 minutes walk from an excellent grocery store (HEB)l. Parking is easy, free and very convenient The owner is in evidence and is pleasant to interact with. For the sake of completeness and thinking of other future potential visitors we mention a few other less positive aspects: Although the state of decor/building fabric is not objectionable it is by no means perfect and could do with some considerable sprucing up, such as repainting, floor varnishing, light bulb replacement and floor fixing. In the UK (where we come from) realtors would describe this as "shabby chic". Further, if you are expecting a choice of breakfast this is not routine (although dislikes are catered for). In the event the breakfasts were good (just one dish) so this was not a problem for us. Further, do check if your projected stay includes any local "holiday" days (e.g. "Day of the Dead") as the price is much higher for these days so you may want to consider alternative dates.…
This was a gem! It was directly on a very quiet section of the riverwalk I didn’t even know about. Breakfast with Margaret Saturday & Sunday was the best part. The check in & out process was simple. We will be back!!
Lovely inn with lots of charm, located right on the Riverwalk. Was only about 10 minutes to all of the activity. Room was nicely appointed, bed comfortable and it was nice to be able to sit on the porch outside our room. Breakfast was always good and the manager who prepared it, Margaret was so nice. Sge even got up early on our last morning to accommodate us as we had to catch an early flight. We will definitely be back. P.S. - would be nice to have a Keurig in the room for all of us caffeine junkies.
beautiful place to stay - and a perfect location on the river walk! the food was delicious and the staff are so friendly! Enjoyed breakfast on the deck and visiting on the porch. Look forward to our next stay! Highly recommend!!
Margaret and Rolland provided us with a fabulous experience for our first trip to SanAntonio. The B/B was situated in a quiet area, but walkable to all the amenities on the Riverwalk. Margaret prepared the most delicious breakfast every day! A very nice place to rest!
I was excited to stay at this B&B. I read the reviews and the pictures showed a charming inn. One of the pics that caught my eye was the old style bicycles which I never did see while we were there. I loved the idea of being away from the action but close enough to walk to it. The B&B only had a few visitors during our stay so most rooms were empty. Roland met us upon arrival and we had a nice chat with him . We stayed in the Bowie room. Decor was very simple. Not a lot of storage. The base of our bed was on a wood platform. Not very appealing but it was comfortable enough. Pillows were not so much and just basic bedding. A/C cooled the room which was great since the temps were over 100F each day. My complaint with the AC.. very loud. We had to leave the fan running continuously so it wouldn’t wake up us each time it came on. The security door chain was broken which if I was travelling alone would make me feel uneasy. I felt the room needed a deep cleaning especially with covid still lingering. The lampshade on the bedside was full of dust and a splash mark in the doorway leading into the bathroom are a couple examples. The balcony was a great feature but it too was in bad need of a scrub and repairs. Chairs, tables and ceiling fans could use a really good wipe down. The one thing I always look forward to when staying at a B&B is the breakfast. Unfortunately this where I was most disappointed. Tacos and a couple chunks of watermelon the first morning was just ok. Coffee was good but I don’t notice the cinnamon that a few ppl spoke of that set them apart. Next morning I was very disappointed with the tortillas egg dish. I had so many tortilla pieces in mine that were just soggy dough that I had to put to the side and after that I really had no eggs to fill me. The following morning we went elsewhere. I did hear a young guest complaining one morning that he didn’t like what was being served. It made me think that there should be other options such as a toaster to make yourself toast or even a small basket of muffins/ pastries. The owners/workers are great people and with a little help this B&B can be so much more. If the breakfast was outstanding I would have been able to put aside a few of my complaints as I kept thinking don’t just judge the rooms, wait for the whole experience but unfortunately I was never wowed by any of it. A little snack of cookies beside the water cooler left out when you come back from the day would have been so welcoming /Homemade banana as an extra in the morning- who doesn’t live the smell of homemade baking?/Hanging flowers/ferns just to spruce up the porches/Minor repairs/paint/Making sure things that are broken are fixed right away/ inspect the wood rotting in the balcony floor. We paid an average of $295 a night for our stay. I feel this was way overpriced and therefore did not meet my expectations.…
