We checked in and the first night was uneventful. Property is dated but clean. Second night and on was hell. The people upstairs were jumping and running all the way til 4am. I notified front desk twice. Not much effect. Next day right at 6am it started up. The guy in the front office said he would call the room but didn’t. He seemed bothered by my request. We were checking out anyway so I didn’t bother. The walls and ceiling are paper thin. I could hear the people next door. For two nights we paid $240. Too expensive. Never again.
Older hotel but nestled in a quiet area. There were roaches in the bathroom when I turned the light on. The bedroom was clean and bed was comfortable. There was a pool but we didn't use it. I would not go back to this hotel due to roaches. The price was affordable.
This hotel does not live up to Holiday Inn Express standards. The staff was almost rude, and the whole facility is not well-maintained. Rooms for dusty and tired looking. Breakfast items were put out one or two at a time like they might be stolen. I wish I had read the reviews before booking here. It will not happen again!
Fairly fast check in (the lady seemed to have been lost, maybe she was new and didn't know how to use the software?) , clean lobby, clean rooms, comfortable beds. The bad part is after showering and getting ready for bed we found that there were no sheets for the sofa bed so we called the front desk and they said we had to come and get them that they didn't bring items to room anymore so I had to get dressed and go back downstairs to get the sheets.
We stayed 4 nights at the Holiday Inn Express just north of San Antonio’s airport. The location was fantastic as was the points rate. I stayed for only 30,000 rewards points. The two double beds room was clean and spacious meeting our needs very well. The free “breakfast” was pathetic. They are only giving a breakfast bar or packaged muffins and coffee. We had to grab breakfast out each day. The hotel is dated and could use a facelift inside and out, but that is minor. Staff at the front desk was great and helpful especially helping us remagnetize our card keys after sticking them on our cell phones (pro tip lol). Overall, this is an average property that gets the job done without any frills or extras.
I'm not sure what other's are seeing in this property. From check in to check out it was an excellent experience. I travel a lot and stay in a variety of hotels 300 nights a year. I found this one to be clean, safe, and close to the airport. The airport shuttle came as expected. Front desk, all agents friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast served from behind a plexiglass barrier. Value was good, for what was spent. I'm sure if I looked hard enough I could find problems, but the whole experience was great. Believe me, if something was out of sorts, I would be the first to mention it.
I am giving this hotel such a bad rating based off cleanliness. I was there a total of 4 nights and checked out today . The first night there was a medium size roach in my room within 2 hours of arriving to the hotel . The manager did come and kill it but didn’t do anything else. I asked for trash bags he said they don’t use trash bags. I didn’t like that and felt the need to constantly eat and throw my food related trash outside in the big trash cans near the elevator. The towels that were suppose to be clean had spots on them like they were still dirty. I only used the towels that they gave that didn’t have visible spots . Now in the morning I was packing my belongings and noticed a total of two baby roaches and another medium sized roach . This really upset me to the point that I am writing this review . I immediately packed my belongs and left the room. I went downstairs to checkout and told the front desk. She said sorry and didn’t offer anything to compensate for spending $380 and having roaches In my room. I asked for a place to just shake out my belongings to make sure nothing crawled inside. She couldn’t provide a place. I sat in the front lobby opened my suitcase and shook my belongs one by one . I was livid. I will not be coming back and others should stay clear. I am very disappointed in this hotel chain I expect better.…
This is my 2nd stay. My most recent stay, I was in room 324. The room is filthy, especially the bathroom. There is mold in the tub & toilet, cracks in the grout where dirt is collecting. The staff are friendly. I have not eaten their breakfast. It's time to do a Major Deep cleaning & update the rooms. Doubt I will stay here again. I will be in and out of SA for the next year.
STAY AWAY! This isn't your typical IHG Holiday Inn Express. Must be independently owned. Front desk and manager were very rude. Acted like it was a privilege for us to stay there. Not very friendly, not very helpful. Location was great, but my goodness they need to learn the ABC's of customer service. Ended up leaving after one night and moving to a Hampton a couple miles away.
The hotel location is fine. Receptionist are friendly. Breakfast is fine. But the room is not clean at all and it tells me there is no checking behind the housekeeping . I am assuming they change the Linens behind each guest.
