My husband, 16 yr old daughter, and I stayed here the beginning of August 2016 while spending a few days visiting Salem. The owners, Matt & Kelly, were friendly, regularly offering tips on what to see and how to get where during the continental breakfast. The house dates back to 1846, but has been nicely restored. Their cat, Youke, kept...

Hi Kathy, Thanks so much for your kind review of our inn. We're so glad you enjoyed our home, convenient location and wonderful cats, Youkie and Petey. We would love to serve a hot breakfast, but the city of Salem and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts consider us an inn and not a B&B, because we have more than 3 rooms....

This inn is centrally located on one side of Washington Square. You can walk to all the local attractions. Matt and Kelly, the hosts, are great and full of information about the town and the history of the Inn. The building is one of the landmarks of Salem and still retains its family house atmosphere. If you like staying in...

Hi Alan, Thanks for the wonderful review. Yes, if you dig historic homes, then we are definitely for you and you can't beat our central location. I'm so glad you two had a nice holiday in Salem. Hope to see you both again soon. -Matt

The Stepping Stone Inn was a cute and homey place to say. The continental breakfast was great as well as the accommodations. The owners recommendations on places to visit while in Salem were also very helpful and appreciated. Looking forward to our next stay here!

Hi Sydney! Kelly and I had a great time hosting you and Beth and truly enjoyed having you share our home. There's so much you didn't have time to do in Salem, so we hope you book with us again in the near future. Cheers! Matt

First time in a B&B and I will be looking forward to a return visit. Salem is an annual getaway for my daughter and I, this trip being the best by far. Matt and Kelly (and the cats) made the stay feel very comfortable and friendly, yet provided us with all we needed for our weekend sleepover. Large rooms, beautiful...

Candace, it was so wonderful having you and Katie stay with us for the weekend. We're glad your first B&B experience was so good and that we were a part of it. We hope you'll make the Stepping Stone Inn your regular Salem spot and Kelly, the cats and I look forward to seeing you again real soon. -Matt

Stayed here with friends while touring in MA area. Great location in Salem and bed very comfortable. The only negative comment I would have is the breakfast. We would be used to a continental breakfast which would include hams, cheeses etc. There was none and you would sometimes have to ask for more bread etc as there never seemed to...

Veronica, We're so glad you slept well at The Stepping Stone and enjoyed your day trips around Cape Ann and Boston. We're very disappointed that you felt that your stay with us was simply "average," since we went above and beyond to accommodate you and your friends. The City Of Salem's Health Department is restrictive as to what we are...

We just happened to stumble into this B&B when we took a last minute detour into Salem on our way north out of Boston... and I can't believe how lucky we were! Great breakfasts, fantastic location, and innkeepers were so friendly and accommodating. It's not necessarily a fancy place, but if you're looking for a nice affordable place to stay...

If you are looking for five star accommodations with fancy breakfasts, go somewhere else. If you are looking for a great place to stay with fabulous hosts that open their arms and treat you like long lost family, this is the place for you. Matt and Kelly did so much for us. We split our time between Salem and Boston....

Thanks for the wonderful review, Will. It was great hosting you and Becky on your first trip to the Northeast. Kelly and I are so happy that you had a nice stay and enjoyed both Boston and Salem. You really can see so much of this beautiful area by using Salem as your home base. You guys did it right!...

Our one-night stay at The Stepping Stone Inn was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Matt and Kelly clearly know the area extremely well, and were able to provide tons of great information about it (including a wealth of wonderful restaurant recommendations!). They took very good care of us and were wonderful hosts. It is obvious that they take...

The Stepping Stone Inn is a great little inn with authentic historic charm and a perfect location right next door to the Salem Witch Museum. I stayed here for one night in July with a friend, and had to change my reservation at one point due to a change in our plans.
