I called down to the front desk because the refrigerator was not working. The clerk told me that my only option was to change rooms because there was nobody to swap it out or even look at it. We did not care to take 20 plus minutes out of our evening to pack up our belongings and get a cart in order to change rooms. This was a little after 5pm on Friday evening. She acted as though she was the only employee on the entire property. No engineer or housekeeping employees on what I was told was a busy Friday night for the hotel. Because of this, we had food that we had to throw out. On Saturday morning I spoke to the Manager on Duty. She told me that the employee was correct in telling me that the only option was to change rooms. She looked on the computer and told me that she could not adjust the room rate because we went through a third party. I had never even asked for the rate to be adjusted in the first place! However, it is ridiculous that you get treated differently depending on how you booked your room. We paid for our room with credit card points. On Sunday morning I spoke to the GM Carlos. His only answer was to apologize and tell me that they are running lean and just trying to keep the lights on. This is a terrible thing to say to a paying guest! If you can't provide decent service, why are you even open? When we left on Sunday, I attempted to get some hand sanitizer. Of course they were empty. I pointed it out to the Carlos as I left. This is how serious that the hotel takes the pandemic. We also had the feather pillows swapped out. the attendant handed me the pillows without the pillow cases on them. We will not be going back.…
Very nice property in a good location for visiting tourist sites in Tucson. Wonderfully friendly staff. Breakfast was fine for covid times with wrapped apples and breakfast bars. Room had two large spots on the floor and couch/ottoman were stained.
Our group had planned another hotel but they had construction issues and we ended up here. Fortunate they could accommodate but the additional food and beverages the tour ordered were pretty mediocre and once out of even a soup it was not replenished. Did not use the pool but it looked nice--outside only. Beds were comfortable. I wouldn't return.
The hotel is exactly what you would expect from a Courtyard. The rooms were slightly worn and the hotel is weirdly laid out with two big hallways of rooms. Front desk person was pleasant on check in. The rooms still have that nasty industrial lighting above the sink which drives me crazy. When you turn it on in the morning, you are blinded by the harsh light. Anyway, you know what you will be getting with this hotel - middle of the road and predictable
The good: This hotel is in a great location, with lots of restaurants nearby. The staff at this hotel were all fantastic. I like the breakfast options that were included in my rate. The walls were thick enough to mask most of the sounds from the other rooms. The not-so-good: The wi-fi was unreliable. I was unable to work on my computer because it kept dropping the signal. The mattress was nice and firm but the pillows were not very comfortable. The one pillow was too hard and the feather pillow was a bit thin. I didn't like the fact that Marriott has gone to shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel dispensers instead of individually packaged toiletries. They did provide a small hand soap, however.
