Beautiful resort, lots of pools, a lazy river and a water slide! We went to Arizona for February school break and we had just one night here. Wished we had more and would return! Staff were super friendly, prices were reasonable and accommodation was good. The hotel is right beside a good hiking spot and there is 9 hole golf access included in the resort fee. I’ve never been to any hotel where there was so much value in the resort fee - this hotel included kids dinner when parents ate in it, included the golf (clubs and cart extra) and threw in a nice red rose on Valentine’s night at the hotel. I’m a platinum member and felt very valued at this hotel with a late (4pm) check out. It was great, would highly recommend and look forward to going back. Had 3 meals at the hotel and all were good. …
My wife, 17 year-old daughter, 12 year-old son, I stayed at the JW in Feb 2021. Top notch facilities, guest rooms, dining, and bars. Great pool and lazy river, and had some fun games as well (bags and ping pong). Patio is amazing with fire pits, heaters, and live band (Saturday night). The grounds are immaculate and it was nice to be about 6 miles from downtown. This is a premium hotel so be prepared to pay premium prices for all meals/drinks. We would definitely come back again!
Wife and I very much enjoyed are stay at the Starr Pass Resort. Beautiful views all around the Resort with hiking and walking. Multiple outdoor pools and a Tube Water area to lounge in and around. Great large patio area with fire pits and heating lamps for night time socializing. Rooms were good size with all the amenities. You will pay a resort fee but it includes parking and golf daily. Multiple restaurants onsite but with COVID the main one is closed. Staff was nice and helpful.
Just got back from 3 nights at the JW Marriott, Starr Pass Tucson AZ...three night get away. Some background- my wife and I travel a lot - and stay anywhere from a Hilton Garden Inn to Fairmont, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton. Over the years, we have certain expectations depending on the brand and cost. So, at the JW Starr Pass I expected moderately upscale facilities, well maintained, great customer service. So, what was the experience? The room was decent but dated. During the night, the tub would fill with waste from the drain system. Shower had mold and appeared to be partially caulked by someone who had never caulked before. In the evening the outdoor patio with firepits and the only open bar closed at 10:00pm. Friday night There! There was a lot of people just chilling, but each night the staff closed the bar and turned off the firepits. No room service.... There was no pool side service for drinks, and the pool was unheated - way to cold to get in. You could see a lot of maintenence and repair was not being done - broken landscape lighting, etc My wife and I were pretty shocked overall, over the years we were allways confident that the JW would be reliably nice. Clearly no longer the case.…
Wanted to get away from the cold temperatures of Utah. The weather in Tucson at this time was in the mid-60s to low 70's. The location of this resort was fantastic. Surrounded by several hiking trails. Gorgeous views. Customer service was excellent. Golfing is included but did not take advantage of that. My wife and I had a great relaxing time here at this resort. Food or meal services are all located on the premise but know that they are pricey. We took a Lyft from the airport. There is no need for a rental car. We planned to stay put and relax. Loved our stay here. JW Marriot never disappoints.
