First off, this place is VERY hippie. VERY RUSTIC, QUIRKY and not for the faint of heart. This is not a B&B for the pleasure tourist or someone looking for some place clean, quiet and ordinary. You need to know that there will be bugs in your room and geckos who poo all over everything and that the bathrooms are mostly outside. This is the kind of place you will love if you like meeting eccentric hippie types in a casual, commune-like environment. Everyone here is really nice and the vibe is super chill and there's a certain harmonious beauty to the experience of staying here just so long as you keep your expectations low. I spent my teens as a wanderer, living in homeless squats, hostels, and sleeping on the dirt floors of hippie commune barns in Sonoma County, so the Dragonfly Ranch was bit like coming home for me. If you're into these sorts of things, you'll really like staying there too.

Dragonfly Ranch is a mixed bag. Very conveniently located near Two Step and other great beaches. However, everything is a bit funky and not super clean or well kept. The shared guest kitchen was poorly supplied, not reliably clean and often had dirty dishes left in the sinks. The bedroom was dark, and just adequate. Barbara was friendly and a bit flaky. Also pushed her cleansing fast products a bit on us. The place is as much a community for people wanting a place to land for awhile, and do a work exchange, rather than a guest location. The bathroom was pretty sad, outdoors but not in a good way. The toilet got wet when you took a shower (no shower stall, and but a foot or two from the toilet) Breakfast (toast, grain, avocado and jams and PB and coffee/tea were provided, but not always when they said it would be ready. Also, the staff gathered and partied on the floor above our room, so a bit noisy. But the coqui frogs were over the top noisy, right outside our door. They quieted down just about when the roosters started crowing.... Not conducive for someone who is a light sleeper. There is a space to do yoga, and eat outside. If you are looking for more than funky, this is not your place. Poor covid precautions in my opinion.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Dragonfly Ranch for 2 nights and it was beautiful! Barbara was our host and she was very warm and inviting. Organic breakfast and a beautiful location. Our room had a tub and shower outside which we loved! A very homie, holistic, boho vibe. All the people we met on the ranch were so down to earth. One of the most unique places I’ve ever stayed, I highly recommend!!!

Had a fabulous time at Dragonfly Ranch! Barbara and her staff were so friendly, kind and welcoming. I stayed for three weeks of rest and relaxation and felt like I left with friends for life! The room was great with the best breezes, one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on and the enchantment of the birds, frogs, and many other nature sounds felt like I was on a healing retreat! Barbara is an expert at flower essences and assisted me with a few that have become a part of my daily routine. The staff introduces you to other guests visiting like you’re one of the family from day one which was so lovely. They have three dogs and three cats that are so friendly and sweet they come visit you on occasion. Everyone there is truly amazing. It’s a magical place to stay!!!!

Barbara was rude. Due to COVID’s escalating surge, I finally came to the hard decision to cancel my trip last minute out of extra precautions for the safety of everyone.I respectfully canceled my trip paying the penalty (1st night) the cancellation policy asked for. I called Barbara and apologized for the inconvenience politely. However, Barbara complained how much money she’ll lose, and said ”You are too fearful" and "you should see a psychiatrist." I simply couldn’t believe what I just heard. I solo traveled to 8 countries and planned many trips for family/friends, this is by far the WORST thing a host said to me. It’s just mean. Be reminded, this is a “healing center”. You must be joking. No one should be insulted like this. Her lack of understanding of customers’ concern to fly during a global pandemic and choice of words showed no compassion. Not once was I being rude. Huge disappointment to her and her B&B’s reputation. Hope it doesn’t represent the hospitality I’ve heard about Hawaii residents.
