DO NOT stay here! This is a terrible and scary place to stay!!!! We were greeted with a very strong sewer odor in the lobby! The room was fairly clean, but it had dried blood on bed skirt. There was a big hole in the ceiling in hallway and peeling paint everywhere. There were printed notes everywhere about what not to do. It was evident that people live here, bless their hearts...but some of them were sketchy! It was also dark outside the hotel. The sign out front is an old sign that is wrapped in plastic with no light.
They have a no refund policy on your reservation and We were stuck anyway because there were no other rooms available in Albuquerque because of the Balloon Festival.
This place is passed being renovated. The only solution I can see would be a bulldozer!!!
Thank Sh0nnie

I really struggled with whether or not to leave a review, because I know that not great reviews can have such an effect for hotels, especially like this one. But ultimately I hope the management can accept these honest comments.

This hotel needs a lot of TLC. The only clean things in our (very spacious) hotel room were the sheets and towels. Everything else was either broken or not cleaned properly. We immediately realized that the sink and the tub were clogged, and when we lifted the drain plugs, both were clogged with lots and lots of hair.

The beds are not firm. The pillows are a smaller, square shape. The carpet smelled like there had been dogs in the room (the hotel is pet friendly). Actually the entire hallway and elevator smelled like animals, and the hotel has signs up warning pet owners to not let their animals mess up the interiors. The exteriors also have animal excrement. (I understand not the hotel’s fault but someone should survey the walkways).

The rooms are big—we had a king suite which is two rooms—a bedroom and a living room with a pull out sofa. There is a good sized closet with an ironing board and 2-good sized dressers (3 drawers each). There are two tv’s (you can close the door between the living room and the bedroom, which is nice), and in the living room there also is a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The desk and desk chair are quite comfortable. If things were in better shape I would definitely have recommended staying here longer. However, in the state it’s in, I can’t imagine staying more than one night.

The pool is tiny, and the chairs are broken. The pool towels are the size of hand towels. The breakfast area looks newly refurbished, as does the lobby. It’s unfortunate that the hotel didn’t extend renovations to the rooms, but maybe that is in the pipeline.

The hotel is located right by the interstate, which makes it both convenient and noisy. We visited specifically for the balloon fiesta, and found the location very convenient. Even though the hotel is right next to the highway the rooms are not too noisy—if you’re concerned see if you can get a room that faces an interior courtyard or other side—you hardly hear anything at all.

We booked the hotel through hotels.com, because it was linked to the balloon fiesta website. The pictures are very old and outdated.

The staff were very friendly though—we did not experience rude staff as others have mentioned here. On the contrary everyone we met was very helpful and nice.

With some deep cleaning and investment this place could be a family and pet-friendly gem.
Thank Snorkeleyes

Bottom line: Basic needs are met but many repairs are needed. The combination of faded/failing infrastructure, lack of attention to maintenance, and apparent culture of mistrust of guests were unsettling. I would not choose to stay here again.

We bought this room online from Expedia for less than a normal price. Room was up two flights of stairs on the outside of the building and the elevator was out of service. Room itself was clean. The layout of the room and bed were fine. Furnishings were faded/frayed and curtains smelled like smoke up close, but no odor in the room.

Hotel manager allowed us to swim early. To get to the pool, we walked around the hotel to the front, passing three cars up on blocks that were missing tires and plates and many bags of garbage. Manager was friendly and issued us towels at the desk. Pool was refreshing, but pool area needed lots of repairs/maintenance.

Free Breakfast was described as “full, hot”. It included cereal, thawed pre-prepared frozen eggs, sausage, O’Brien-style hash browns, apple juice, coffee, bagels, cream cheese, toast, grape jelly, orange marmalade, and hotel waffle iron waffles. No OJ or fruit or yogurt. Many signs telling guests that taking food out of the dining room was prohibited. Employee serving breakfast asked for room number.

Walking back to room, I noticed pretty lavender plants on the side of the building and los of broken glass and peeling paint.

This hotel would, for us, be considered pretty avegare. The room we got was clean and pretty spacious, but thats about it.

The breakfast was average, but as expected from a hotel with limited stars.
The reception and staff was better than average. Friendly.
The overall look of the facility was lacking, as it needs work. It looks old and rugged.
The room was clean and quite spacious. The A/C worked well.
There was a pool, something not all hotels in this class have.
The internet was somewhat slow, but working alright for the usual googling and such.
Thank Ronny T
