My partner and I stayed for 2 night in November 2016. We spent 2 weeks in NZ, and stayed at 10 different places, ranging from $78/night, to > $500 per night (mixture of AirBnb, caravan parks, hotels and hostels). This was by far the best value of all of the places we stayed. We stayed in a Queen double w/... More

We stayed in a private double room that was functional, with good access to some clean bathrooms and toilets. We paid a competitive price for the accommodation and were satisfied with our room. Breakfast is advertised as included, however this is extremely simple: bread, spread, corn flakes and milk only. We did not try the soup or the popcorn. Lots... More

The first good impression is the manager of the place, ever friendly, extra helpful, even refused a tip and gave me a slight upgrade! He also recommended the right places to visit close to the glacier. The place itself is well-maintained, with all required amenities within reach. Bed was comfortable, and this place offered the best value for what you... More

We stayed in a double room with en-suite on the second floor of the lodge. The room was clean and tidy - an extra blanket had been supplied as it had been cold prior to our arrival. There was also small fridge with tea and coffee supplies. The staff member we dealt with was really helpful explaining everything, offering to... More

Friendly staff, clean rooms and add to it a wee soup in the end of a cold day and a continental breakfast in the morning (and black coffee too :D). To good to be truth for the money you pay. Really nice. Congratulation guys!

Driving from Punakaiki to Franz Josef Glacier township by rental car took about 3hrs with stops along the way at Greymouth and Hokitika (love that name!) This backpackers lodging is located just a short walk from the main drag (Highway 6) where most of the eateries, adventure offices and 4Corners supermarket are situated. Parking is free on-site. Our ground floor... More

We stayed for one night on the way to Wanaka in a queen-bedroom with private bathroom. The room/bathroom was tidy and clean with 2 heater units (one was old model, another one was new, both worked well). In our room, also has small fridge and free coffee and tea (which didn't provide in a twin-bedroom unit). The kitchen was big... More

We stayed here on our drive from Blenheim to Queenstown and we were well satisfied. While it is more of a backpackers lodge than a hotel, it was clean, cosy and comfortable. Breakfast is self service and is adequate, with cereals, bread and coffee/tea provided. The motel is a short distance walk from restaurants and bars in Franz Josef and most... More
