We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage for a couple of nights and found it very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge area has lovely comfy sofas. The bed was just right and although you're quite close to the main road there was no noise. All in all everything we wanted and a pleasant stay. Very friendly...

Thank you for you review. The new cottages are delightful and as you pointed out, even though they are by the road, they are actually quite quiet. Unfortunately there is only 1 main cable into the whole of Franz Josef for Internet, so it does make it difficult sometimes to get WIFI, however we hope the beautiful scenery made up...

The first look at the property brought us so much joy.. beautiful cottage, just like one would imagine in a land far from the hustle of big cities..the views were excellent..even better was our host Jennifer..she helped us get to the city centre and even waited for us while we shopped

I booked this online before travelling to New Zealand for a family holiday in January. The reviews and pictures looked OK and as many do and have done before us - it was a one night stay while we walked to the glaciers and enjoyed the Alps. With 2 adults and 3 kids - we needed a 2 BR unit...

Thank you for your review. Although we do feel your review was unfounded we appreciate your time to bring a few areas of concern to our attention. At the time of your travel it is Peak Season and to accommodate such a large group this is where we specialize in our Luxury Chalets. It would of be good to of...

We had driven from Christchurch to the glacier and were very happy that we had chosen this accommodation. Check in was easy and the staff/owners were very helpful. We were given an end unit with great outlook, hills to one side and bush to the other with the lake off in the distance. We had a 2 bedroom unit and...

Picked hotel due to overall good reviews and liked it. First impressions were very good spacious and well fitted but it just misses out - there is nowhere at all to hang clothes - no wardrobe or even a hanging rail ok if you are stopping overnight but not much use if there for a few days. Also the two...

Thank you for your review. Having just taken over in August, these were 2 of the major areas we attempted to rectify before peak season, however with Xmas we missed out on transport availability being so far from a major city. We are now well under way of implementing new storage space in the bedrooms and redoing up the chairs....

We only stayed here for one night but it was incredible. The customer service was amazing. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs and provide useful information about all the in's and out's when it came to visiting Franz Josef. The accommodation itself was modern and clean and very spacious. Definitely would recommend.

While traveling with another couple we had the good luck to stumble upon this retreat. We were given a 2 bedroom cabin which was excellent for our needs. Spotlessly clean, roomy, comfortable and modern with views to die for. The hosts Mel and Nigel are the new owners and are a lovely couple who went out of their way to...

We stayed here for 2 nights in December. Positives: The chalets, on first glance, look amazing as you walk in. All very clean. Quiet area not far from the centre of Franz Josef if you have a car. Lovely view out one of the windows towards the glacier. Negatives: The floor really cracked and creaked badly so if someone got...

We stayed for one night with our two children in December. The retreat is made up of about 12 chalets with amazing views of the mountains when the weather is good. Lovely accommodation, far enough out of town to be isolated and peaceful, but only a short drive in. Neat, clean and tidy, with all the amenities you could require, Very helpful hosts, and even sitting here now, even though it is raining, the mist and the view of the mountains is amazing. Also good WiFi and DVD library if required....
