My husband and I, plus two hiker friends booked in for a cabin here after we completed the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The staff was patient with me over the phone as we had rough reception at the time, and very kind upon arrival. We were pleased with the cabin size, and choice of beds inside. Although a bit sparse decor... More

We stayed at Cabin 2 at the Holiday Park. It was perfect for the four of us; tidy, warm and comfortable. Whakapapa holiday park provides great value and the hosts, Jenny and Terry are really helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

We booked a night in order to have no problems at our arrival. We arrive late, so they left an envelope with the information needed to fine our site and additional information of the camp. Our surprise was when we arrive to our site and we saw that a campervan was alreasy there, we knocked the door with no answer,... More

We stayed with family and friends at the lodge for two nights (hired the whole lodge for us) and stayed in the cabins for two more nights. It is by far the best holiday park in the area. It is clean, well equipped, warm and the hosts are extraordinarily kind and helpful. Every year we take the children to the... More

Stayed here for one night, but found that it was pretty crowded and the powered site were all pretty muddy and not well lit. Shared facilities was okay and the kitchen was pretty big. No utensils provided though. Not much of a town at Whakapapa, and no place to get groceries near-by. Guess its okay for one-night, but can be... More

Hi Malcolm, Yes, we have had a pretty busy season this winter! The nearest supermarket is 15km away. We do have a small range of most essential groceries items in our shop. We would like to have more but unfortunately don't have enough space. If any guests require kitchen utensils we do advertise they are available for loan from the... More

Very pretty and private campsite. Nice short walk to falls. Showers were great. No shortage of hot water. A playground or activity for kids would have been good but I think they cater mainly for skiiers etc

We stayed with our caravan last year for 4 nights. So good being so close to the mountain and other activities. We didn't use the kitchen but did use the bathrooms and drying room. Our kids loved exploring and being able to see the snow capped mountain.

We stayed here for two nights while doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and chose it on the basis of the reviews on here. We are so glad we did! It's brilliant! The owners are really helpful even though it was really busy when we arrived. The campervan pitches are all cut into the forest so you get your own hideaway... More

We stayed here two nights to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The location is perfect and Whakapapa village itself has spectacular views (the chateau bar and restaurant only a few minutes walk from the campsite). The holiday park is clean and pleasant - the amenities block well maintained with great, powerful hot showers. Our chalet was basic but nicely designed,... More

I stayed for four nights camping in which I did local walks and mountain biking in the district. The layout of the campground next to a... More
