The campsite is lovely and relaxed. There is plenty of space, the staff are friendly but keep out of everyone's way. It's right on the beach. Lots of trees providing shade and shelter from wind. The facilities are a little bit tired which not everyone will like, but I think that adds to its charm and relaxed feeling. Had a...

Excellent value for the price you pay. Right on the beach. Pets allowed. Facilities in the units good. Full sized frig, stove and TV. Clean and tidy. The grounds were being re-grassed, but remember water is precious.

We camped here for several days recently, but it was a bit of a let-down after some of the great camps we have stayed in in Northland. The facilities are tired and definitely in need of an upgrade, the grass needs mowing and the grounds generally need a tidy up. It’s saving grace is that it’s right on the beach...

We stayed here for 3 nights in our caravan, found the facilities were good, but the grounds are in need of some attention. Lots of dirt flying around everywhere. Beach is lovely, just a stones throw away. There is a small shopping area about 4 ks away, can get most of the necessary items there.

The location of this camping ground on the face of it is good - absolute beach front onto a long sandy beach. The drawback to the location is the strong onshore wind and the sand and salt it blows with it. If you can get a position out of the wind then I would suggest doing so. The welcome at...

This isn't really Kaitaia but the Karikari peninsula which is slightly further south on the east coast. It's a great location. We stayed in one of the units and they're just behind low low sand dunes with the beach on the other side. And it's a lovely beach. Long, white sand. No big waves while we were there but not...

“Ask for the unit by the beach but furthest away from the entrance. That way you don't have so many people walking past to get to the beach.”
