This place was the best we stayed at during 3 weeks in Ecuador. The reasons were: Location: it's secluded, a 10 min car ride over a bumpy road and several large streams from Mindo. This is an advantage as Mindo looks to be becoming a bit of a tourist trap with tour agencies fighting for space with burger and pizza...

What a gem! We booked this for a weekend getaway from Quito, it was fantastic. A real ecolodge with fantastic service and beautiful surroundings. We saw more nature here than anywhere else we went in Mindo - hummingbirds, butterflies, baby toucans everywhere. I would highly recommend a stay here, it's a 10minute walk down to the river (which you can...

Mindo's location in the Ecuadorian cloud forest is beautiful, with gorgeous flowers and lots of wildlife (especially birds such as hummingbirds). The location of this hotel is quite remote even from Mindo, as you have to travel a 7-km dirt road to get to it, which includes crossing 5 streams, something I wouldn't attempt in the rainy season. However, if...

Stayed here with my family of 5 for one night. Very impressed with the cleanliness and beauty of the facility. Mauricio greeted us in person even though we arrived very much later than expected (so easy to get lost in Quito). Our room was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast the next day was made to order (best coffee we had in...

I was here quite recently and had a terrible experience even though I had heard very good things. Judging by the booking reviews I saw I do not understand how this hotel has such great reviews. 1. Pool is freezing, no way you can comfortably enjoy it. Might as well swim in the river if you enjoy such cold water....

We stayed here for 3 nights in March and had mixed feelings about our stay. For the most part, things were positive, which is the reason for the Very Good rating, but there were a few things that kept it from being Excellent. First, when we arrived there was no one at the hotel to book us in. We searched...

Food was great. The staff always helped with everything we needed for the retreat we held in Abrazo del Arbol for three days. The experience was perfect and the guests all loved the experience. The beauty of the surroundings adds great value to the already lovely hotel.

The decorations are a little strange and the weird hand might give you nightmares. But other than that it is a perfect little resort for the whole family. David is a wonderful host and I highly recommend eating everything on your plate because the food is out of this world. And even the weird decorations grow on you after a...

This is a true eco-lodge! You will shower with filtered river water and the pool is also river water! You drink bottled water tho LOL... the food is good, not superb like some comments I read, however, it is good & clean food for Mindo standards. The lodge is super clean, the staff is really cordial and kind. People are...

“There is a thatched roof Yoga shelter, a chemical free, spring fed pool, a sauna and miles of trails to make an exquisite fitness center. The ambiance of the rooms, the decks and the gathering area make every room a prize. Views are phenomenal from any room and the sounds of silence are interrupted only by the sounds of birds and, at night, frogs.”

“One thing to keep in mind: The lodge has a "tree-house" feel to it and you can easily hear folks walking on floors above you so if you are a light sleeper or irritated by this kind of thing, I recommend requesting a room on the top floor.”
