This hotel was perfectly located and absolutely gorgeous! We chose it for the less crowded location, limited number of suites, and adults only features. From the moment we arrived we felt very well attended to and welcomed. The hotel campus is well laid out with lush gardens and a beautiful, flowing water feature throughout, complete with waterfalls, bridges and ponds with water lilies and koi fish. We were amazed at the size of the suites (basically an apartment) and thrilled with the huge soaker tub (my 6'3" spouse was even able to soak after a strenuous day of hiking!) and spacious shower. The lanai was also large and even a basic room overlooks water features or gardens and has what ended up being the most comfortable furniture in the space. While everything was clean, spacious and lovely, we could not sleep well or even relax on the furniture because the beds were so firm they hurt (I could have made a pallet on the floor and been as comfortable), the pillows weren't plump and the couch had saggy spots and hard wood frames. I so wanted to luxuriate in the space with a fabulous cup of Nespresso (yes, a Nespresso in each room!) but just couldn't get comfortable. The dining in the Birdcage was delicious and offered fabulous views along with the singing of lovebirds that prefer to perch in the rooftop. Breakfast at the Restaurant also offered views to the ocean and was delicious, serving local flavors and the world renowned Hawaiian coffee. Try the ricotta pancakes, seriously, you've never had anything like them! The service at every level was friendly, efficient and professional. Even though it's not directly on the beach, there is quick and luxurious service to get you there along with everything you need to relax on the beach! I'd recommend this hotel at every level but the sleep quality!

Aloha and thank you very much for your review. I am very pleased that you enjoyed the peacefulness of our property, size of our suites and the friendliness of our staff. I also appreciate your feedback regarding the bed in your suite. Mattress firmness is indeed a very personal taste, and I am truly sorry that it wasn't to your liking. We do provide a variety of mattress toppers upon request to accommodate all sleeping preferences. I do hope that you will both come visit us again and enjoy a comfortable night at Hotel Wailea. Warmest regards, Markus

Hotel's Favourite
So perfect for my birthday and our anniversary celebration! Wow, from the moment the complementary valet took our keys to check out, the experience was amazing. We love the mature and respectful vibe of this adults only resort so we could fully relax. Details of our assessment are below however in summary, we would most definitely come back to stay here! * View: We got room 121, a partial view room, but to our surprise, from our deck we had full view of the ocean. In other places, “partial view” meant there’s probably a building blocking most of the scenery. * Room size: Plenty of room for us as a couple, essentially a one bedroom apartment with kitchenette. Ample clothing storage. * Beds: really comfortable * Kitchenette: So complete: separate fridge and freezer, microwave, sink, electric teapot, espresso machine, still and sparkling water. And oh yes, real dishes and silverware! * Table/desk: Desk wide enough for two that could double as dining table space. * Seating: L-shaped sectional, chairs for the desk, and full dining set and lounger on the patio. * Bathroom: Generous space, awesome open shower and deep soaking tub, also super wide sink/vanity * Deck/patio: Spacious with amazing views of garden and ocean * Climate control: Full A/C, ceiling fans * Tap water: We used it for coffee/tea and drank it as ice water— no issues * Privacy: felt private with no-rooms in front of us, also pretty high on a hill and wide grassy area out front so no foot traffic in view. * Noise level: Really good, there is some road noise that could be heard from the room, but it’s not like it’s a major thoroughfare so was totally manageable. Also, closing the patio door, it’s pretty silent. * Pests: Almost none. It is the tropics, so outdoors we did get a couple of mosquito bites on the patio. Again, this will be the same anywhere in Hawaii so with some Off I’m sure you’ll be fine if your sensitive. * Pool: Incredible! We surprised ourselves by spending the most time here. Great warm water temperature, pool-side drink and food service, comfy cabanas and lounge chairs, spotless facilities, and not crowded at all. * Beach: With Wailea being such a popular beach, it was such a relief the hotel has it’s own set of lounge chairs/umbrellas just for guests. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Sand and water were amazing, swimmable, and no rocks/coral to speak of near the shore so water shoes not really needed. * Crowds: On the hotel property, pretty much non-existent. Even at the pool, on average we saw about 15 people and everyone was respectful of noise. * Service: Super friendly and felt really genuine talking to each of the staff. * Parking: Valet and self parking.

There's too many things to mention about why I'd stay here again. The staff, the quiet atmosphere, the food, and the room to just name a few all felt like each detail was meticulously thought through. This hotel feels different than other larger resorts in the best way. We stayed in Lahaina/Ka'anapali on our stay as well since we wanted to see different parts of the island on our trip. Any future trips will definitely bring us back to Hotel Wailea though.

This was our second visit to the Hotel Wailea and we were not disappointed. The laid-back, relaxing atmosphere and the stunning beauty of the property keeps us wanting more. And then there is the restaurant... We dined there twice this trip because, frankly, one meal there wasn't enough. We plan to visit Hotel Wailea every year from now on!
