the picture looks great but when you check in your room is not in the house shown but an apartment-style "cottage" out back. Room is two stars at best, very worn carpet, wallpaper peeling off wall, all double beds (not king or queen). That said, breakfast was good, although only three items to choose from, one cold muffin or toast....

We stayed in the Clay room in the main house. The main house is well decorated, and nicely kept. Antiques in every room, furniture belonging to Mr. Whitman, as well as period-correct staged furniture, beautiful lighting. We were just taken with the space. I would just like to say that the staff here are really friendly and extremely helpful! The...

this is a 20 plus room property. it has been heavily commercialized to accommodate the amount of guest they process. It is a nice place but it lacks the elegance of a small place. from the glass atop the table to cover the table cloth to the rooms being musty and worn looking this place didn't meet expectations. the area...

Spent one night. Stayed in the Gardenia room. Staocked with bottled water and ice upon arrival. Spacious, clean, but poor lighting, although the bathroom was well lit. Bed slightly tall but very comfortable. Helpful, friendly staff. Enjoyed walking the grounds. Had a cocktail and complementary hor d'oeuvres before experiencing a wonderful dinner in Restaurant 1818. Breakfast next morning in the...

On a recent trip to Natchez, MS, my husband was eager for me to see the many lovely antebellum homes. What could be better than staying in an actual historical mansion! We booked a king room in the main house that had beautiful fabrics, a fireplace, creaky floors and lots of character! This gorgeous home was built in 1818 but...

It was such a treat to stay at Monmouth. We only had one night but I definitely want to return and stay 3-4 nights here. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff was the epitome of southern hospitality. We were greeted so warmly we felt like family. We stayed in the Pond Cottage and loved our room. Hal...

This was the hotel that I was most looking forward to on our road trip in June 2016 however it did not quite live up to expectations. We paid $215 plus taxes for one night and were allocated room 28 - Claiborne in the old coach house. The hotel and grounds were absolutely fabulous and we spent lots of time...
