Our hosts,Ron and Eleanor helped to make our stay even more enjoyable than it would have already been in this historic, beautiful house. Ron and Eleanor typified Southern charm and hospitality. The Rose Room was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring this beautiful city. Have Ron get you the window table at Magnolia Grill for a great view... More

A warm welcome from Ron and Arlene made me feel right at home immediately. |The room was very comfortable and offered plenty of reading materials and historical depictions of the city of Natchez. The common area was stocked with candies, sodas and other delights to snack on while relaxing in the many public gathering spaces, porches and gardens. I would... More

Ron and Eleanor treated us like we were their only guests; they were so attentive and at the same time gave us plenty of privacy. The Rose Suite was beautiful and clean, and the grounds were well kept. We enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to come back.

Understated elegance in a lovely Victorian home on a street filled with beauty. Breakfast did not disappoint. Wine and cheese served in the afternoon. Friendly staff. Gorgeous gardens and inviting porches. Highly recommend.

We stayed with Ron and Eleanor for a few days over new years. Such great hosts who cared about every attention to detail during our stay. We stayed in the Rose suite during our stay which was more than sufficient to our needs. Very cosy with lots of space. Very clean and well equipped. We were able to use the... More

My wife and I spent a night of our honeymoon at the Devereaux Shields. The house and gardens are full of charm. We love well-preserved period furniture, and this house didn't disappoint. The owners are completely committed to guest satisfaction. They recommended restaurants, and they even called to make the reservation for us. We loved our complimentary glass of wine... More

We arrived early afternoon and were welcomed with a glass of wine from the very friendly owner. We asked for advice where to visit and eat and recommendation was helpful. House is beautiful and rooms just lovely. Breakfast was round a large communal table & we had a great time talking to the other guests.

We stayed at Devereaux Shields House - actually at their "cottage" a short ways down the street from the main house - in October 2014, and were awestruck by the beautiful furnishings and decor. It was like sleeping in a museum, with 5-star service. The breakfasts were especially delicious, and hosts Ron and Eleanor were warm and accommodating - they... More

My friends and I stayed at this B&B for two nights. We shared a gorgeous 2 bedroom one bath suite. The home is beautifully decorated, the beds and amenities perfect and the food for breakfast was fantastic. Ron and Eleanor Fry are the proprietors. They are very knowledgeable about where to eat and what to see. This is a must... More

This is a great bed and breakfast: the hosts are welcoming and helpful, the room was extremely spacious and comfortable, and the homemade quiche, cheese grits, ham and BEST biscuits in the south were delightful. We stayed in Clara's cottage ca. 1897. Our dog was also welcomed here.
