This site has everything going for it: An incredible setting on an expansive property overlooking the Mississippi River and the City of Natchez; the site of Jefferson Davis's wedding in 1845; and an iconic, two-story "Big House" which contains 6 separate bedrooms for guests. However, it falls woefully short in actual practice. The property is terribly dilapidated and coming apart...

We stayed @ The Briars B & B for a quick romantic getaway during the 2017 spring pilgrimage. We arrived on a Sunday & NO ONE was there, not owners, employees, or even other guests! There are signs stating "24 hour security" but it was non-existent. Our room key w/instructions were left on the office door. Room furnishings are very...

We gave our bank two pages of unsatisfactory items, bordering on fraud, in order to get a refund. After checking, they refunded 1/3 of our charges. Upon arrival we noticed that the potted plants were dead, the "management" had left our keys in an envelope taped to the office door.....We should have turned around then, but the town was booked...

The web advertising of this B&B is verging on bait & switch. The photo is of the main house which has nothing to do with the B&B and cannot even be entered. We arrived at 5 pm and staff had gone - left us a key. We reserved the room with kitchen but no kitchen implements - oven, stove etc...

We were excited at the thought of this place from reviews, local, and history. It did have the best view of the river and a couple of nice spots to sit and see. However, from first contact it was disappointing. The owner did not confirm reservation until I sent an email as we were leaving home demanding a response. When...

Beautiful views of the Mississippi. Jefferson Davis was married in the parlor of the main house. You can actually stay in that room. We stayed in the River Vue room about the dining hall. We had a private balcony overlooking the river and grounds. The caretaker, Glenda, was a superb host which was a huge plus for this B &...

Ok the reservations first. This is an older place and the buildings and grounds need some work and you can tell the working on bring the quality of the physical property up. Now why 4 stars. The room was large, comfortable, clean and peaceful. Enough so that you can overlook some of the outstanding maintenance issue and required updates. The...

The main house was a little bit creepy. Very close to being cute, but everything looks like it needs a fresh coat of paint. Ice bucket but no ice, no microwave, and overgrown gardens. Excellent view of the Mississippi, good location close to town but not in town. Owners are in the process of restoring and could improve soon.

We stayed at the Briars over Mothers Day and enjoyed it tremendously. The staff was so accommodating and the grounds were beautiful. The view of the Mississippi from the lookout area was beautiful at sunset. Definitely a place to stay.

We stayed in the River View room and the view is great. We stayed four nights, had wonderful breakfasts (the eggs are wonderful), the staff were very friendly and treat you like family. The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful. Would stay again in a heart beat. The people of Natchez were all welcoming and just down home good people....
