I can only echo what the other 5 star reviews said - the place is awesome and the owners even more so! Margaret and Bartek were great hosts. We felt like we were sleeping in a museum, or perhaps a palace, as we were treated like royalty! Great room, great surroundings, great price, great hosts - wish we could have stayed longer! We were apparently the last guests for the season, but were treated like the first. Thanks much for a wonderful experience!

Hospitality is a name of the game I have been in Sovi Dom three times and each time was as good if not better. My host made my staying there like staying at home. Fresh flowers always, fruits and little things that you do not see in many places. Great value for a money you pay.

Malgorzata and Bartek are absolutely fantastic hosts. They are very nice, gave us many tips for trips, they recommend us the best restaurants in the area. Breakfast on the veranda was absolutely delicious and we also tasted a speciality with kimchi.
The location is great, next to the manor house and its garden. The house is amazing and we were very impressed. The rooms are amazing...we felt like we live on castle :-).

The location is great. Just few meters from a castle and park.Price is very good because rooms are very clean, big and beautifuly furnished. Breakfast is also great with a big variety of local food.We found this hotel to be very comfortable and full of character. Staff are friendly and helpful and we were made very welcome. I would not hesitate to highly recommend it as a great place to stay if you visit Banska Stiavnica. It would not be a place for you if you like spotless modern hotels, but superb if you want a bit of history and a traditional experience.

Last weekend my husband and I spent in this lovely historic house. Margaret and Bartek treated us as royals. Rooms of our suit were warm and toasty - Bartek burnt all three stoves (but in case you are still feeling cold, there is a thick wool blanket for your feet and an electric blanket for warming of your bed ready for use in the closet). Margaret put fresh roses in every room. Breakfast is served in the room (which is very comfortable and private). Food would feed 4-5 people easily and selection was wide (only the best hams and cheese, eggs, warm bread, pancakes...). All served on a stylish porcelain. They take into consideration your food restrictions if you have any (just let them know). You can also ask them to prepare a dinner for you. We were very pleased with quality and amount of our food. In the room you will find an electric kettle, tea bags and instant coffee, bottle of mineral water and fresh fruit. Everything you might need to feel comfortable. Rarely you will find such a good service. Our children are green with envy when we speak about your place, so maybe it was not our last stay in your house. Thank you Margaret and Bartek, wish you all the best.

We staid at the Sovi Dom during our trip to Slovakia. As a practicing Jew, Margaret and Bendak, the unique, extremely attentive and truly kind and honest owners of Sovi Dom immediately offered us to cook Kosher Food for us every evening at their place. As Slovakia is not an easy place in that regard for anyone wishing to visit it and its beautiful landscapes, I cannot tell you how much this helped us. Otherwise we would have had to basically fast for a couple of days. And it was offered to us as if it's the most natural thing to do for every guest. I found that outstanding. Margaret's and Bendak's place is truly a magical, special place, like out of a fairy tale. And its and their story deserve a film. Our stay with them made our Slovakia trip a special and happy one. So thank you Margaret and Bendak and hope to meet again.

Staying here was pure magic. The historic home restoration was a sweet labor of love. Fabulous care went into creating such a beautiful inn and we were so lucky to have found it! And the food was beyond compare. We ate every meal at Sovi Dom and are still dreaming of it. I am a true foodie and was amazed at what Margaret could make for us. And each day, Bartek graciously gave us great tips on where to go and how to get there. Just outside their home is a lovely park with walking paths, lake and restful trees with nesting owls. Staying at Sovi Dam and meeting Margaret and Bartek made our entire trip wonderful. We are so grateful for such incredible, kind, smart and thoughtful hosts and beautiful surroundings.

My family - wife and daughter - along with my mother in her mid-eighties stayed at Sovi Dom in November. We really enjoyed our stay. Margaret and Bartek were so friendly and helpful with things to do and what to see. They kept the house nice and warm in November with the beautiful ceramic stoves - what a pleasure. The food was great. The house very clean and tidy. And the setting for walks in the nearby forest perfect.
We plan to return and would suggest the same to friends and family.
Thanks Margaret and Bartek. Sorry for taking so long to review, but we still remember our stay very fondly.

Accommodation in a family pension Owl House is a real treat. With my partner every year we return to this beautiful environment where both feel amazing. Accommodation has its original atmosphere, the experience is not only because the guest house is located very near the baroque castle below the magnificent forest with a beautiful English park in close proximity. The owners Margaret and Bartek are great hosts, they will feel at home. And I'm not talking about diet, it's gastronomic experiences! Really! So, we strongly recommend to visit the Owl House! I stay in Sovi Dom twice, once in summer, and on spring time. place is very frendly, stuff is like family,
It's nice bulding- many years ago part of the castle, with a lot of souvenirs from the trip around the world, hunting trophies, stylish furniture and paintings.
There is two (right now) apartments in Sovi Dom. You got part of house, where You have bedroom, bathroom, and livingroom. Margaret prepraring great, amazing food from all over the world.
Pension is close to the castle, and park, there is lot of places, wher You can go walk, riding on bicycle (they got some bicycles).
all neighbourhood is quiet, great landscapes, and not far from Banska Stavnica, great old town.
