This is one the loveliest hotels we styed in in Spain. Although only 1*, it is in a wonderful location right on the main square of Zafra, with beautiful views over the square and the roofs of the old town. The rooms are perfectly adequate if not large – comfortable beds, flat screen TV, and a very good breakfast is available in the fascinating Spanish courtyard of the hotel. The only unusual experience is that when we personally tried to ask for a room at around 5.30, we were told that they are fully booked – yet half an hour later we had no trouble booking a twin room on the internet… ? Anyway, we were very happy to stay here – highly recommended!
This great value hotel is well located in a pretty setting. The room was comfy and clean. The very friendly staff made us welcome and even gave us a free coffee each as we checked out. Zafra is a lovely, friendly place with a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back to spend more time there.
We stayed in December 2017 and very glad we did. Hotel was very well kept and bedrooms were big and bed was comfortable. Windows were old and a bit drafty, but the heating worked a treat. I have the impression that all rooms were different sizes and shapes due to the age of the building. Placed right on the main square, it was an easy walk to restaurants in the center. Would go again. Very good value for money! Breakfast was copious, but very Spanish and the man in charge was working hard to keep everyone happy.
Bedrooms are big, at least the ones in the first floor, and although the building is old are in good shape and bed is confortable. The location is great and the breakfast awesome, in fact after that breakfast we have regret of not having dinner there as well
The hotel decor takes one back a century or more and is well preserved. You won't find Naugahyde-clad furniture here. I'm not an antique expert, but the furnishings in our room were definitely old, sturdy and well cared for. The architecture is traditional and overall very pleasing. The hotel is clean and the staff pleasant and helpful, but parking is problematic since the hotel fronts the plaza and is situated in an area of ancient, narrow streets. The location is central to the old city and is close to the "High" street where you will find good shopping and some attractive restaurants or bars.
Just stayed on an overnight here we were able to park in the square for a small fee the hotel was typically Spanish.our room over looked the square big wardrobe comfy bed air-con and tv very clean and comfortable the staff, although we only met one man, was friendly and helpful. it is right in the centre of the old town lots of bars and restaurants we actually ate at the hotel in a lovely amtrin the food was good and very well priced well recomended
Lovely place in the heart of old town Zafra. Nice staff. But wifi upstairs doesn't work, which is unacceptable in our times. Encantador lugar en el corazón de Zafra. Personal muy agradable. Pero la wifi no funciona en las habitaciones de arriba, y eso es inaceptable en nuestros tiempos.
This hotel could be so much more. It was cheap, fairly basic but clean and with character. We had a back room, some of the others looked lovely and maybe a little more luxurious, but we're not complaining, it had everything we wanted at a really good price. The bar was good and the staff really helpful, breakfast was good (in the bar), although not included. With little Spanish we couldn't ask about the really attractive covered courtyard which was a dining area, but we didn't see it used. This is well worth searching out, and town itself is worth a visit.
Great little hotel overlooking main square of this town. Close to bars, restaurants and amenities. Lift to all floors, room air con, TV and very clean. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Recommended for single travellers and families alike.
We enjoyed for the second time the small city of Zafra. It gives the feeling of really being in Spain. Eeven if during the night people are talking rather loud and late. If you need, take your earplugs. Otherwise you can share their joy. Hotel Las Palmeras brings you in the middle of the happening. It has an elevator.
