A lovely hotel with wonderful friendly staff.. highly recommended. Any little problems were minor and fixed immediately. Great location in the centre of this beautiful small town. Beautiful large lounge room with an extensive collection of books to borrow. Great place to relax. Free parking nearby.
Room was best expressed as tired particularly the shower room which was also very cramped, shower slow to drain so standing in water, body wash and shampoo not regularly replaced so best to take your own. There was a safe in the room but it didn't work and this was not resolved despite my request. Biggest problem on check out was after settling the bill I noticed the cost for the room was higher than anticipated, went and retrieved the original booking to find a significant overcharge. When I challenged this i was told that he had not realised I had booked through Booking.com which meant IVA was included. He then refunded the overcharge. Then also noticed that despite me asking for the credit card to be charged in Euros (he retrieved the card machine before the option showed on screen) it was processed in Sterling resulting in a very poor exchange rate. A fact he disputed afterwards even though it showed clearly on the card receipt. I would advise checking the account very carefully and checkout in plenty of time to resolve any dispute as we had a cab waiting and I left before I felt my issues had been properly addressed. This could be a very nice hotel but the issues I had spoiled the stay and I would not return.…
I cannot rate this boutique hotel enough. The owners were really helpful and cheerful and the room was lovely. The rooftop breakfast room was a delight especially as the weather was so good. Great location in the heart of the small town. The small negatives are, no kettle and the church bells could be a little bit loud if the doors were open.
I don’t understand how they pretend to have a spa and not hot water.Even in the rooms the water is warm but you never can get it hot.I waited 40min to have a hot jacuzzi then a guy kicked me out becaus other clients were waiting. The breakfast is simply gross (sugary and greasy pastries, low quality cheese and ham...).I had an hypoglycemie crisis and went to ask for any snack, crisps or nuts basically anything edible and they said they had none in the hotel...At €350/night for the suite this is a rip off.
Welcome to Fawlty Towers personified. Within 20 minutes, we realised this hotel flattered to deceive and was a huge mistake. Firstly, when you first walk in, the hotel does come across as a four star - but that’s about where it ends. When we entered our room, well, when we had got our third electronic card key because the previous ones had failed to work, we found a cupboard draw hanging off, the shower smelling of blocked drains (not Spanish smell but drains), a room safe with a broken key, poor WiFi and general bad decor. Oh, most importantly, the hot water wasn’t hot. It was barely luke warm. Having realised I was paying nearly €400 for a three night stay, I asked reception to change the room which the duly did, calling it an upgrade, but it was again a double deluxe, the same grade. Same grade, different room, same problems. In all, I had to visit reception 18 rimes to report either the door key not working, the hot water being almost ice cold and the safe having not a non working key but no key whatsoever. Indeed, there was more. The room’s heating system was up the spout so we froze. I contacted Booking.com whom we booked through who were told that the hot water issue had been fixed. But they were lying. It was not fixed. Indeed, the owner could not be reached, there were no local plumbers and so as a result, we were unable to bathe, wash or shower for the entirety of our trip. This place and its bumbling staff are the very epitome of incompetence and I would not send my worst enemy here. Oh, and they charge €13 a day for perilous parking in microscopic bays where natural rock formations come out to invade the parking space and as you reverse, damage your car. The WiFi was less than 0.06 at most times with Speedtest.com so was pretty useless. In fact, after 10pm, it was zero as it was switched off, probably like the water temperature to save money. Even the breakfast was second rate. In conclusion, there appears to be very little staff in attendance and I believe because the owner likes to run a very tight, almost parsimonious ship with customers’ comfort very much last in the agenda. If you come back to the hotel late, you are given a code to get through the door. If this works, fine, but then you have the worry that your door key is not going to work in which case you will be locked out of your room for the night! Having travelled extensively, this hotel is a lot worse than many 1 stars I’ve stayed at. All looks and no substance, hardly any staff, old tired rooms, basic essentials like hot water and internet but pipe dreams and a terrible waste of money. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. IT IS A TRUE RIP OFF IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD AND YOU WILL BE BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED AND OUT OF POCKET. PLEASE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE IN BOOKING THE SA CALMA AND INVEST YOUR VALUABLE MONEY ELSEWHERE!!…
