Thanks a lot to the owners of this beautiful place in the mountain where we enjoyed everything, from the breakfast (very diversified, lots of choice, all products very tasty), the dinner (actually the best dinners we had all through our trip in Spain - vegetarian menu is splendid), the advices and attention provided for hikes and places to see around to the room with nice terrace and great bathroom with natural products ! We ll be back soon :) !!
One of our most enjoyable trips to Spain. Great lodging. Great food. Close to hiking and sights. Lovely view out the dining area as well as the room! We hit rough rainy weather but powered through it and had a truly wonderful stay! The host was incredibly helpful with planning our days as well.
Excellent food at every meal (much from the farm and garden), knowledgable and friendly staff. Toiletries made locally using essential oils and olive oil (no palm oil). Right in the heart of the most beautiful walking country. Would definitely stay here again.
We spent three days/four nights in Posada del Valle with our three kids aged 11, 13 and 15. The children shared a three-person room (twins and a single bed on a mezzanine platform) - quite a rare find in our experience. In retrospect, it would have been slightly easier if we had been in a double on the same corridor as the children - but in the event, we were placed on a different floor. There’s lots for families to enjoy in this part of Spain. We canoed on the Sella, visited the Picos/lakes and spent a wonderful day at the Playa de la Ballota. Food in the area is fun to explore too - cider, tapas etc, We found Jo and Nigel to be well informed and helpful. The food was decent and the Spanish staff super kind. The terraces, sitting areas and garden are gorgeous.
This hotel is a gem. It is located in a gorgeous spot of Asturias, you can start lovely walks from the hotel or drive (30 mins) to beautiful beaches, or try kayaking in the nearby Sella river. The hotel has a simple and charming style, rooms are super clean and the other spaces airy and comfortable (the breakfast/dinner area has lovely views, and one can play board games or have a drink in the lounge). The breakfast is delicious and rich, but most importantly the hotel restaurant serves an excellent dinner. If you are longing for vegetables, tasty meat and cheese and healthy yet delicious food after too many tapas, here is the place (I believe the owners’ son is the cook, he seems to truly have fun creating interesting and earthy recipes). Finally, the owners are incredibly nice people, Joan (I believe this was her name) gave us perfect tips for fun things to do with our two children, while Nigel is an expert in all the hikes you can do in Asturias, his no-nonsense advice is top! He even has compiled a book with descriptions of all walks, and will provide maps and gps. We have loved staying here, 5 days have flown. We will be back next year!…
