Extremely friendly, I forgot a jacket in a bar in the village for which they did a great deal of effort to get it back to me. They also gave us a lot of good advice on how to climb the Mulhacen (the mountain) for which we came to Capileira. I know where to go if I'm ever in the neighbourhood again!
Rooms are very clean. Free parking. Breathtaking views of Mountains. Easy, short walk to shops and restaurants. Limited number of restaurants open when we visited and only one open for dinner. Local shops selling local products.
I really loved the quaintness of this hostal. It is very small, reception is in a tiny corridor. The man who checked us in was very friendly, he did not speak English and we did not speak Spanish but we got by very well using our 'Charades' skills. The rooms with the views are at the front of the building but they get extremely hot in the summer. Our room was at the back of the building, I had a very peaceful and quiet sleep there. There are no windows to the external of the building from some of the rooms, they face onto a tiny enclosed courtyard, some may find this claustrophobic, but I really enjoyed it. We stayed there for two nights. My room had two single beds, and a small but very adequate en suite. There is good wardrobe space for a few days. There is a small public lounge to be shared by all guests and it is comfortable and can be used to meet up in the evenings after you have been out walking the nearby hills. At €17 per person, per night, this hostal is great value. Note, they do not serve breakfast here, however the very nice Meson Poqueira just two minutes away is a great breakfast option. WiFi is free and is good quality. Free car parking in the public car park just across the road. Capileira in general is a gorgeous village, and a must see when in Andalucia Highly recommend.…
The walls are little thin , but that's really all you can complain about. The room was clean & the staff was pleasant. WIFI is strong in the room. It's right in town, close to everything. There's free parking all around the property. It's a great value for the area. Would stay there again.
Wonderful place to stay with cosy, traditional furnishings. Excellent value, room very spacious and clean with lovely views across the mountains. Owners were friendly. Easy to find on the main street as you enter capiliera. No breakfast but there are cafes and a couple of shops. Quite a few decent restaurants for an evening meal. Parking is free anywhere in the village.
