Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Read the reviews, and was happy to find they were generally accurate. This is a beautiful hotel in a historic building, rooms were quirky but stylish and comfortable, loved the huge windows in the bathroom making things sunny and bright. I've been disappointed in the past with other Atlanta hotels, but the Candler is a great find.

Hotel's Favourite
We had a 4 night stay and thought the hotel was awesome. We were upgraded to a Deluxe view. The hotel has a very historic feel and the staff are all top notch. The rooms were quiet, AC worked great, food was good in the restaurant and valet was pretty quick. This would be our first choice if visiting downtown Atlanta again. It’s not really a hotel issue, but at night the park next to the hotel is pretty sketchy so I’d suggest taking another route when walking back to the hotel. The aquarium and world of Coke are within easy walking distance (less than a mile).

We had a 7 night booking. We stayed 2. There wasn’t anything here worth the 500+ a night price tag. I came here with my wife and daughter. The valet didn’t help us. Told us there was no assistance with bags and just stood there while we unpacked. We walk in to see a literal bellhop who helped us after we were already inside. They promised us a microwave, crib, packnplay. None of it came. We made a request for soap so we can wash baby bottles 3 times. Each time they said they’d call housekeeping to make it happen. It never did. Front desk was disheartening. We went to the restaurant which the service was good but the food was not worth it. Heavily salted and i actually drank 5 glasses of water before we left the table. We wanted to explore the city. Do not walk there. Period. There are disturbed and violent homeless in the area. And a bunch of Normal homeless that clean their clothes in the water fountain features on the block. Night time is 100% a no go. The Walgreens down the street had broken boarded up windows and a heavy police presence with a lot of homeless on the corners. We ended up ending our visit very early and when asked why we told them. We weren’t angry or aggressive but more disheartened by the entire visit. Oh when we were leaving, they watched my wife and i pull bags off from the top of the stairs as valet and bellhop were busy conversing and watching us. will not be visiting here again.

The hotel has real potential to be great. Sadly, it misses the mark. First off, they informed me upon arrival that they would be “holding” 150$ per night for “incidentals”. I personally think a 600$ hold is a bit steep but then they closed the restaurant for “filming” without any advance notice. Why would you keep 600$ of my money and then close the only place I could spend it. The inconvenience of having to leave the hotel for breakfast every morning was tiresome especially since you are at ground zero for homeless people. Water was never replaced in the room and staff generally seem to look busy to avoid helping you. The front of the hotel was blocked for ongoing “ filming” so doormen did not feel they had to assist with bags or luggage when Uber pulled up 50 feet away. Generally, felt unwelcome and would not return.

My family and I just came back from a trip to Atlanta and I have to immediately write a review for this great hotel. Both the property and the rooms were beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Atlanta. I would like to single out Jazmine in the dining area and Will at the bar. Both of them went out of the way to make my wife, my boys and I feel like we were amongst family away from home.

Great customer service! Jerome was amazing and took very good care of us throughout our stay! He was always there making sure everything was taken care of!!!! The room was clean and spacious. The entire hotel was gorgeous. The gym was big and had every thing AND two PELOTON bikes!!!! The Valet staff were amazing! Even during busy times they were professional and courteous. I left food in my vehicle and the valet staff ran back in the pouring rain with no hesitation to get it for me. Thanks to all the valet staff.
