This is now my go to hotel when in Atlanta. Great location and staff is so friendly, helpful. Absolutely love their breakfast buffet. Brian always goes out of his way to help me. Love chatting with him. I am always welcomed as a Hilton Diamond Member here, and have received a free upgrade to a suite every time I have requested. Room is clean, shower is incredible, bed is super comfortable, and the AC blows well keeping room at your desired temperature. The retro-1960s decor is charming too. This property is easy to get to from the MARTA and a quick 30-minutes to/from the airport via MARTA. Highly recommend.
This is a fantastic hotel that harkens back to a simpler time. Tastefully decorated with 1950s classic era decor and memorobilia, the hotel is well located in Atlanta downtown, easy walking distance to attractions and restaurants and bars, and has very friendly and helpful staff. I got bumped up to a suite, which was very nice! Comfortable, well appointed and definitely a very nice hotel. I've stayed before, and I think this will remain my go to in Atlanta!
The location of the building is not perfect. Downtown, many homeless, old and rough. The first day I needed to park. Initial balk at $50 for valet parking at the hotel caused me to use a garage. By the time I was done in 24 hours I incurred 174.00 in parking charges. There was no resolution. It ended up cheaper to use the valet. This, however added to the cost of the stay significantly. Centennial Park is around the corner and those sights are worth seeing. Especially the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. The food in Atlanta was incredible. Considering the number of homeless, the city was clean everywhere and in every neighborhood. People were friendly wherever we went. Inquisitive and helpful.
Booked this hotel for a group of male mentees for our annual Social Justice and College Tour. Checked in late and Tiara, the Assistant Manager, was able to meet all of our needs including parking for our charter bus at 11:00 pm for a reasonable rate. The breakfast bar was also incredible. Will definitely book here again in the coming years Thank you again Tiara and Marva.
Was here with a group meeting and was treated well. Loved the Mustang artwork in my hotel room! Would have felt differently if it was a Camaro ...lol. Food was good and staff during our meeting was efficient and friendly. Part of the property are a bit worn like some carpeting and furniture. Bar area is convenient and I heard the breakfast was quite good.
Booked this hotel because of the reviews, location and being a Hilton brand - had other options close that I could have booked but was being economical - never again! Hotel looks like it’s been ridden hard and put away wet - wear and tear, smells, things out of order. Desk in our room had visible chunks out of it, barn door for bathroom was almost impossible to get open - list goes on. Thankfully only there for two nights otherwise would have moved - not worth the money - AT ALL.
Horrible experience! Valet was rude upon arrival. Valet put a timer on his phone to ensure I only took 10 minutes to check in! When I returned from checking in, was told parking was full but then the next car behind me got parked. Room smelled bad, decor was supposed to be Americano but felt like a yard sale with terrible beds and bad air quality. Elevator broke and was out of service which wasn’t a surprised after seeing condition of elevator. Front staff was rude and unhelpful when I reported issues. It was so terrible that we left after only one night and booked another hotel for the remainder of our trip.
I was greeted by Tiara Jones. She was AMAZING. Her energy was so positive. And she was so helpful. I can’t say enough about her. She’s a great asset to the hotel. I shared that I would be doing valet parking and she advised me to secure it before heading out because it fills up quickly. I’m so glad she did. Since I was traveling alone, I didn’t want to park away from the hotel. As for the gentlemen at valet, they were so kind and professional. I’d say the best I’ve encountered. I had one minor issue that was honestly beyond the hotel’s control but it was addressed as soon as I shared it with them. This was my first time at this hotel but it will definitely not be my last.
We found the Cloakroom Restaurant by accident--saw it from the shuttlebus from the Convention Center to the Westin Hotel, where we were staying. All other restaurants in the area were 1 1/2 to 2 hour waits, and extremely noisy and most rather expensive. The Cloakroom was like an oasis! Calm, quiet, excellent service (John was our server both evenings)--all teamed with delicious food at reasonable prices! Nice surprise! Our group of 7 (went 2 evenings) had the bourbon glazed chicken with wild rice and broccoli, the meatloaf sandwich, the tomato bisque, wedge salad, chicken fettuccine, chef's salad and a meatloaf dinner plate, among other items. All agreed the food was excellent. Food was very reasonably priced--wine was a little high ($12-13) but good selection. We were delighted that we found this spot! Don't know anything about the hotel in which it is located, but decor was fun--photos from the 50's and 60's--and location was very convenient for us--across the street from the Westin.…
Overall, customer service was.. variable. A couple of the senior staff seemed friendly and competent enough, but I did not feel like a valued customer, nor that my needs were quite met let alone anticipated. Maybe my hotel standards are too high nowadays?, I expect more when I see a Hilton and Doubletree brand. Booked through a third party (which apparently is not preferred for this hotel). The real problem was that I couldn’t get a straight answer for what I would be charged for having to leave early because my concert event was canceled. One front desk person said it would be no problem to get a refund. I called booking.com and they called the hotel on my behalf and was told that was not the case. So I went back to the front desk and they said they deal with the third-party booking sites directly and that it would probably not cost as much as a full nights’ stay. After I got back home I called the Hilton service line to get a breakdown of what my final charges would be, because honestly I didn’t want to deal with the Atlanta hotel staff again. The Hilton line person was much more pleasant and helpful and called them directly then stayed in the call with me until I got my answers, so that was a good experience! Final answer- I would be charged for that night and that in fact, because it was a holiday weekend, there should have been a three night minimum stay.. Although she was not rude, she was not terribly polite either. She seemed defensive, even though I wasn’t disputing the charges I just wanted to know what they were and why, since I could only see the pending charge via my bank. The hotel had a great location and was clean enough.. rooms were just OK. Location was walking distance to the stadiums, Olympic Centennial Park, restaurants, and aquarium (they have slightly discounted tickets to that at the hotel by the way, I thought it was over priced but good for kids, nice shark exhibit lol although this isn’t an aquarium review), As others mentioned, the $45 valet parking is the only option. The kitchen was only open at certain times and expensive, so eat out if you can.…
