We arrived here on Feb 13th. Myself, husband and two girls aged 11 and 13.

I/we were really worried by some of the negative reviews here, we had been to Malta before back in 2004 in a similar aparthotel so were very apprehensive beforehand.

Stayed in November and like you thought I had made a mistake booking it because the reviews made it sound like a complete kip. I have to say when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised the apartment was clean and housekeeping kept it so every day. You had a bedroom with two single beds and a single bed and fold out sofa in living room, basic kitchen and decent bathroom. If you are saying all you want is a place to put your head and shower then this is fine. I few pointers though Malta is a warm County even in November Air Con is an optional extra which you have to pay for unfortunately I cannot remember the price, TV remote again optional extra but TV can manually operated if needed and safe has to be rented also. You don’t mention weather you are staying on a no board, B&B half, full or all inclusive but if you do eat in hotel don’t expect to be blowen away it’s functional. I also note you have a kid so I would recommend requesting an apartment facing the pool area and maybe a higher floor, I had a 1st floor apartment facing street and with pubs across the road it was really noisy so not ideal for kids
6 days is a tight enough window to see Malta and you really need to plan, I had seven days and even that was not enough. Transport costs are insanely cheap a single journey anywhere is €1.50 on the bus station literally 5 minutes from hotel or you can but a weekly ticket. Tours there is a rep everyday in the main hotel reception or a host of tour shops within walking distance of hotel. I book Gozo through hotel which was a great trip
Valletta is a cool place to visit with loads to do with a host of attractions mainly historical, you have a load of other places Silema, Popeye village, Gozo
Restaurants I cannot help as I stayed AI so eat in hotel but did find a fish restaurant nearby and a good Chinese
Places easy to get to on bus however they don’t do express services so you use normal bus which with all the stops and going through different villages and towns a trip to Valletta can take over an hour
Hope this helps. You will find various reviews on my profile of places to visit in Valletta, Qawra etc
