Easy to find from the Airport of Olbia (20min drive). Clean appartement and good beds. Good restaurants on walking distance from our place.. Most Tourist restaurants were closed because it was LOW-LOW season.

We stayed here two days while scubadiving in Tavalora. The attention of the owner Ivan was great even before staying there: I made a mistake with the dates while booking the room through a webpage and it was not refundable. I cancelled the reservation almost immediately but the webpage said money could not be refunded. I wrote Residence La Rosa explaining the situation and they did not charge the booking. Instead we booked for the right dates. Once at the apartment, he was very kind and helpful. The apartment was big, clean, quiet and comfortable.

The reviews on Tripadvisor about Residence La Rosa were not wrong. We have just retured from 10 days there and would recommend it without hesitation. It is set back from the main road that runs through Porto San Paolo and is therefore very quiet. Our sleep was never disturbed, the beds comfortable, and internal shutters blocked out the rising sunlight. The Residence has numerous apartments, and is managed / owned by Ivan and his wife who live on the premises and are often available to provide knowledgable advice on the best beaches, best restaurants etc for miles around. Our apartment had a kitchenette / lounge and balcony on one level, with stairs leading to the bedrooms and bathroom. Everything is catered for, thoroughly clean, and bed -linen and towels changed half way through our stay. Breakfast is provided by Ivans wife if requested by the guests. Nothing is too much trouble and there is a wide variety of breakfast foods and drinks available. We enjoyed each breakfast we had and they certainly do set you up for the day. Car parking is on the road, immediately in front of the Residence. Porto San Paolo is a small town, located 10km from the airport, (but not under the flight path) with a couple of supermarkets, some restaurants and a small port from where boats depart for the 20 min journey to the island of Tavalora. The only criticism - the tea cups are small, and I would have preferred a larger cup or mug for my tea ...... but it did NOT spoil our enjoyment of the accommodation or our lovely holiday.

The difficulty about writing this review is that all the superlatives have already been used by other reviewers! This really is an amazing place. The "Residence" is actually three buildings all on the same site and in a similar style. It is run personally by the owner, Ivan. We arrived late in the evening and after some problems in locating reception we were taken to our rooms by Ivan. We had booked a one bedroom apartment but because we visited in May and the residence was not fully booked we were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment with a lovely sea view. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The flat was on two levels. The entrance was on the first floor and on that level was the large living room/kitchen, a good sized balcony overlooking the garden, and a toilet. Upstairs were the two large bedrooms and the shower room/toilet. Although there is no wifi in the apartment there is free wifi in the breakfast room and in the reception area. It is situated just out of the centre of Porto San Paulo and within easy walking distance of a good supermarket and cafes and restaurants. You need a car in order to get around Sardinia. Ivan is very helpful with suggestions of were to visit and following his advice we saw many places that we would otherwise have missed. Ivan's wife provides a breakfast service which at 6 euros each is really good value. This place really is a gem. It is very good value and in a wonderful location - only 20 minutes by car from the airport at Olbia. I would recommend it without reservation.
