Hotel Veritas is a great base for exploring Cambridge on foot. The hotel has upscale furnishings and very agreeable staff. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Avoid rooms facing the Massachusetts Avenue at all costs; even ear plugs don't stifle the noise from the street....More

There is also bus service, but I would probably use the "T"
If your visit is to enjoy walking in Boston vs Cambridge, I would opt for a different hotel(though we loved the Veritas)
