Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped off at this pleasant camp site on the shores of Lough Derg. Very nice staff, working very hard to keep the facilities clean and Covid free. The site is well laid out. The trees and bushes need a bit of attention before they get overgrown and unsightly. Will be using it again and hopefully staying for a longer duration. The village is a bit of a ghost town, didn't see any shops, so make sure you are organised with essentials.

Stayed here in August for 1 night we were blessed with dry warm weather staff were helpful, 2 adults and 1 child in a tent rate was 24 euro very reasonable, fire pits available for hire is great 5 euro and you can buy fire logs on site or bring your own which we did. Pitched our tent looking over lough derg fantastic views, check out at 12 following day. Lovely campsite will definitely return next summer.

The location is absolutely stunning, I got to camp right by the water side, really beautiful place to pitch. The facilities here are modest and we'll maintained, but seem to be showing their age a bit and could use a refresh. As others have said this campsite feels very close to nature and the toilets, etc are built as huts which is great, they just felt like they could use modernising somehow whilst keeping the natural/minimal feel. Cost was €20 for a solo motorcycle traveller which seemed a little bit expensive to be honest. €15 might be more reasonable. Overall a great campsite though.

The location of this site can not be beat. Its absolutely beautiful - on the lake shore with direct access to the lake for swimming, boating etc. The rates for hiring equipment is very reasonable ( €25 for rowing boat for whole day, €5 returnable deposit for lifejackets, €20 returnable deposit for fire pit and €5 for firewood). Staff were lovely and helpful. The site is a bit run down but honestly the location makes up for it! There are great pitches in a wooded area, on field and directly on the lake shore. Lots to see and do around the area too - Kilaloe & Portumna forest park are beautiful. I understand when camping you are going to get a bit of noise etc but there is absolutely no point in having a curfew (12am to 8am) unless it is enforced. We we kept up all night long

Firstly, for location to the lake this place is brilliant. Literally a two minute walk to the lake which has a diving board. Kids had great fun jumping in and the lake was warm. You can book a motor boat for €50 for the day but book it before you get there Pitches are a bit all over the place. We had booked EHU but when we got there, there was none available. This place could be amazin but needs a bit of work and tidying up. Staff were young but lovely.

Tom and the team were fantastic. We had a static home no more than a few feet from the shores of Lough Derg and opened the curtains on the first morning to the sight of two beautiful swans feeding on the water. We were also blessed with one day of great weather and took the opportunity to hire a rowing boat with an outboard engine and took the children to Holy Island. We did try some fishing but it was a bit too bright for them to be out. (no eyelids is a problem in the sun). The facilities are good and getting better. there is lots of work going on in the site and it should be ready for summer, if we ever get one in 2019. Maybe September will bring summer warmth. anyway, camping, caravan or static home, this is a great place to experience nature at its most beautiful

We just love this camp site the site itself is fabulous you can choose to camp in open field area, in a wood or at the lake edge there is a pitch to suit all tastes. Our teenagers love the site, there is a football pitch, diving board, tennis courts, children’s playground, option to hire out canoes or paddle or electric boats. If you are lucky enough to own your own boat etc you can moor it in the site. Dogs are allowed provided they are looked after we’ve never had an issue with our dogs at the site. Mountshannon the village beside the site is extremely quaint with a lovely little park area with a maze and children’s playground and a Harbour. There are restaurants and bars. The next few towns have takeaways. The region of the lake is well worth a drive around I love Killaloe it

Spent 2 nights at the lakelands Holiday homes. It was very spacious, it sleeps 6 people. ( one single room has a pull out bed under the main bed so that can be used for a kids room who are ok sharing) . One main double bed room, and one room with 2 single beds. All fairly large rooms. The livingroom /kitchen area also very large, which leads out onto a decking. One thing to note the bedrooms are on the bottom level, kitchen/livingroom are upstairs. Only downside to this there's no toilets on top level.. For anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs this can be an issue. Owners allow dogs, which is great. The harbour is a ten minute walk, nice park 15 min walk. The town itself is very small, has 2 nice pubs with a small restaurant upstairs in the larger one. Food was reasonably
