Stopped off at this pleasant camp site on the shores of Lough Derg. Very nice staff, working very hard to keep the facilities clean and Covid free. The site is well laid out. The trees and bushes need a bit of attention before they get overgrown and unsightly. Will be using it again and hopefully staying for a longer duration. The village is a bit of a ghost town, didn't see any shops, so make sure you are organised with essentials.
We stayed here. Great pitch with loads of space On the lakefront. Kids had a ball. Very clean and well maintained with good adherence to all Covid Guidelines Would highly recommend The lake views are great.
Stayed here in August for 1 night we were blessed with dry warm weather staff were helpful, 2 adults and 1 child in a tent rate was 24 euro very reasonable, fire pits available for hire is great 5 euro and you can buy fire logs on site or bring your own which we did. Pitched our tent looking over lough derg fantastic views, check out at 12 following day. Lovely campsite will definitely return next summer.
The location is absolutely stunning, I got to camp right by the water side, really beautiful place to pitch. The facilities here are modest and we'll maintained, but seem to be showing their age a bit and could use a refresh. As others have said this campsite feels very close to nature and the toilets, etc are built as huts which is great, they just felt like they could use modernising somehow whilst keeping the natural/minimal feel. Cost was €20 for a solo motorcycle traveller which seemed a little bit expensive to be honest. €15 might be more reasonable. Overall a great campsite though.
The location of this site can not be beat. Its absolutely beautiful - on the lake shore with direct access to the lake for swimming, boating etc. The rates for hiring equipment is very reasonable ( €25 for rowing boat for whole day, €5 returnable deposit for lifejackets, €20 returnable deposit for fire pit and €5 for firewood). Staff were lovely and helpful. The site is a bit run down but honestly the location makes up for it! There are great pitches in a wooded area, on field and directly on the lake shore. Lots to see and do around the area too - Kilaloe & Portumna forest park are beautiful. I understand when camping you are going to get a bit of noise etc but there is absolutely no point in having a curfew (12am to 8am) unless it is enforced. We we kept up all night long…
