This campsite is excellent. We stayed for 3 days over the October bank holiday weekend. It was our first time at this site so we didn't know what to expect other than what we've seen on the internet. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the facilities were spotless and regularly cleaned. Of course we had biblical rain during October, so some of the campsite was a bit boggy. Those without wellies didn't plan ahead properly. It is very obvious that the owners of the campsite are putting a lot of effort into refurbishing it. With a lot of fresh gravel on some pathways and new concrete pads by the diving board, boat harbour and other areas. We had the perfect pitch for our caravan at the waterfront which is something we personally look for in a campsite, so we couldn't have been happier just a few feet away from the lake. It was perfectly suited for us, (2 adults and two dogs). Especially with a few short meandering nature trails off into the woods to the East of the campsite. Our two dogs couldn't have been happier with regular walks and a few dips in the lake whenever the swans or ducks weren't about. A Small petrol station shop serves the town of Mountshannon, which is a few KM away, so best to make sure you have everything you need before you get to the site. We look forward to returning to Lakeside again in 2024!

From the start of booking to leaving the staff were so friendly and helpful. The bathrooms, although a little dated were absolutly spotless and well kept. No rubbish at all on site. Improvements being done constantly and services like electricity and water all had multiple access points. Access to the lake in many areas. Tennis court, football pitch, table tennis table all available. No playground but plenty of trees to climb and space to run. No loud noise at night or early morning. Wifi is patchy but so is the rest in co clare. Will be back as it's a great location to get to many attractions.

Lovely site secluded on the banks of beautiful Lough Derg. Hard Stands have electricity and water easily available. The site is safe for children and facilities are clean and COVID controls are strictly enforced by friendly customer focused staff. This site is so peaceful, you will most certainly leave rested......Highly recommended.

Stayed here recently for 3 nights, we have stayed in 3 other campsites this summer and Lakeside toilets are the cleanest. They are constantly cleaned and you have to book the showers as they clean them after family use. The pitches are very spacious and loads of room to play. Kids loved the diving board, tennis courts and football pitch. Will definitely return again.

Stayed for two nights and wish it was longer! Plenty of space for tents and not over crowded. Kids made friends instantly and could play in area in middle of tents always in sight which was just pure bliss! Not once did i hear "I'm bored", infact I don't think they would have eaten or slept given the choice they were so entertained 😅 fire pits were there for rent but can use your own as long as off grass, these were great for keeping midges at bay and of course the marshmallows. Everyone was friendly and campsite was completely quiet by 11 every night but curfew is 12.
Facilities were close and clean.
Beautiful lake with multiple points to chill out at it meaning no where was over crowded. It was choppy when we were there and not the best for swimming for the younger ones but my teenager would have spent all evening at the diving board and I had a lovely swim! Beautiful area to walk around either way.
Mountshsnnon is a beautiful small town with playground and maze and then a harbour to walk down to. Shop in petrol station here with essentials and very reasonable pricing. Scarrif not too far for a centra.

We have returned to this site for several reasons. The owner and staff are welcoming, helpful and kind. The lakeside is outstanding, peaceful and relaxing. If you like boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, or just sitting in admiration of the lovely lake then this is the place for you. All ages catered for, football pitch, lovely walks and close to local amenities. A handy garage/shop in the village for essentials and a good bakery only a short walk from the site

We are just back after a two night stay here and we enjoyed every minute of it. Pitches are spacious and kids played in the middle so happy days for Mam and Dad to relax in the evenings. I have four kids and they had a great time, we have booked to go back in August. There is a diving board onto the lake and we received a life jacket for my little boy. Toilets were clean and showers can be booked at certain times during the day. Highly recommend this campsite

We stayed for one night and are definitely going back. We got a lakeside pitch which was hard stand but we didn't want to put up the awning up for one night anyway. It was a beautiful day so a great buzz about the place. Lots to do here, kayaking, swimming tennis. There is a diving board for the kids. The views of the lake were spectacular. Laundry, toilets and showers open, some facilities need to be booked. It's a short cycle to the village of Mountshannon or 20 min walk. Definitely worth a visit.
