we had booked two twin rooms. When we reached they only had on twin room and a single room. They then accommodated us in a family room, which was like a dorm. The shared bathroom facilities were not that great. They could improve the cleanliness of the toilets.

The breakfast buffet was nice, so many things to choose from. We had the soup of the day for dinner and it was delicious with sweet potato. Just too bad that there was no water in the swimming pool. It only takes 10 min to walk to Skogarfoss, on the way you will pass a farm where you can go...

I got a single room with shared bathroom since I was traveling alone. The experience was great though. This hotel is really close to Skogafoss so it might be helpful for you to plan your rote. Comfortable bed, friendly staff (as everybody in Iceland) and a good breakfast complete the great experience. The only problem was the wifi, only available...

If you've been in Iceland away from major cities, or even in them too, you know that you can never really say that a room is cozy, or spacious, from my experience, they are tiny, and with just enough space to move around with your luggage around. This one is no exception, the open spaces, with light flooding in are...

This was the worst hotel we stayed in in Iceland - not to say that it was bad, just very basic, wifi was limited to lounges and room was quite small. On the plus side, the staff were exceptional (sorted us out a decent veggie meal), also has some nice craft beers in bottles! Breakfast was OK. Great location though.

Disgusting becuase of the smell of rooms, bathrooms, corridors. Like never the fresh air comes in the space. Also there are many pictures of ancient studients that becomes a little bit spectral feeling. Breakfast & dinner is not good at all.

First of all, the staff at Hotel Edda saved my family from a night of being out on the street. The nearby guesthouse lost our reservation, so we needed a place to stay fast. Luckily for us, there was a last-minute cancellation at Edda, so my family was able to get the big room in the hotel. I'm very grateful...

* Nice location with basic, but clean and well maintained accommodations. * Nice breakfast served by kind and attentive staff. We stayed for two nights and the stay was quite pleasant. The hotel was full, but quiet. We stayed in the guest house part of the hotel (showers and bathrooms down the hall). The facilities are clean and well maintained....

Stayed for one night on a ring road journey. It's certainly expensive for what it is - very basic accommodations. No issues with the shared bathrooms but we were also hitting the road super early in the am so we may have missed any bathroom battles. We stayed in the main building and the room was decent and clean. Front...

It's definitely a case of function over form in Hotel Edda, a former schoolhouse converted into accommodation. Rooms are neat and basic but small. Showers are shared but of good quality. Well located next to Skogarfoss. However, I did feel that it was very expensive for what was very basic accommodation.
