I stayed here for 3 nights during a week long solo drive of the south coast (1 night going east and then 2 nights going back) It was by far my favourite place to stay. I stayed in the small cottages both times and they were lovely and clean with enough utensils and appliances to ensure i could keep costs...

Beautiful one room cottage with many windows displaying fantastic views. Plenty of room for a couple, nice kitchenette and bathroom (which had a wonderful heated towel rack for towels and hand laundry). The horses were delightfully friendly and cooperative. The many young, European staff were helpful, nice, and everyone spoke good English. Not much opportunity to speak with locals, however....

The cottage was small and nice. It was possible to make meals in the cottage, it was important for us beacuse we were 4. During july we enjoyed to have some heating in the cottage. The owners were friendly. We used Hestheimar as our base to visit all the area around. A lot to see...

The owners take pride in their establishment and it shows. It is emaculate. No shoes allowed after the front door-- slippers, sandles, flip flops, socks are ok. The rooms are smallish but you'll find a chocolate on your bed. There is a binder with a history of the guesthouse along with a history of the horses in Iceland(it's also a...

Beautiful and peaceful place you can reach in 2 hours drive from KEF airport. Nice and clean cottages for 2-4 persons, fully equiped. Breakfasts and diners are expensive but worth the price. I would have liked a little more advices concerning the place and it's possibilities.

We stayed in a cabin one night when visiting the area. It is close to many of the attractions on the south coast and ring road. The cabin had all amenities including a small kitchen area to make breakfast and light lunches; we did not eat in the dining room and opted to drive the 10 km to Hella to...

Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, they provided us with chocolate and glasses for the bubbly bottle we brought, and made sure the hot tub was still warm and nice for us to enjoy the midnight sunset. Highly recommend!

We booked this tour through Iceland Unlimited. This guesthouse was the last night lodging. It was perfect. We were greeted by a young German girl who was very friendly and explained everything to us in perfect English. We had hoped to do a one hour horse ride and she immediately made the necessary arrangements. It was delightful. Our guide recognized...

I booked a night stay in Hestheimar looking for a quiet surrounding to relax after my visit/hiking in Hveragerdi -just 30m driving from there- and where I could be able to enjoy a horse ridding tour as well. The guesthouse became definitely the best spot I could ever stop in. Two finish girls welcomed be very warmly and invited me...
