My Husband & I had a very good stay here. Helgi and his mother were extremely accommodating and helpful. Since we were there for the 1st time for only 1 night on a stop over with intentions to experience the Blue Lagoon, we didn't rent a car. Considering how incredibly swamped Helgi was with his wife not helping him anymore...

But we werent able to. Prior to our trip, we booked a night at the Arctic B & B in Grindavik to be able to go to the Blue Lagoon. When we arrived to the B & B we were not able to find the proprieters and were turned away by 2 people that we were not able to communicate...

Approaching Grindavik after spending a few days camping in the mountains, I did a quick phone-around, and the Arctic B&B was the only place with a vacancy. I made my way there, and it's easy to find, being between the campsite and harbour, surrounded on most sides by grass. All the guest accommodation is at the bottom of the house......

If your plan is to go to the Blue Lagoon, save time and money by going from the international airport direct to Grindavik rather than taking the Fly Bus (about 50 minutes)then heading all the way back on a day trip with two bus tickets to pay for.
